Phở Đất Việt — Restaurant in Hà Nội

We decided to stop in for lunch after seeing groups of locals eating on the balcony while we were sitting in a donut shop across the street. We are so glad we tried it out because it was pholicious! The service was excellent- very friendly, welcoming and quick. We asked to sit upstairs, on the balcony, where most of the locals were. We ordered the Pho with half cooked tenderloin. The broth was so flavourful and clean; the noodles seemed fresh; the beef was cooked perfectly! The fried dough stick was a little chewy on its own, but when you dip it into the broth, it soaks up all the flavour and is soft and tasty. The restaurant was generally clean (can't say for the washrooms as we didn't use them). There's a staff member upstairs that was very attentive to cleaning the sitting areas, and if you needed anything, he was quick to get it for you. We really appreciate the way they handled the meats as they kept them in a fridge downstairs where they cook. The one bowl of pho came to a total of 55,000VND (a little over $2USD). First visit 5/5 stars. I found this restaurant thanks to the delicous smell that was spreading on the street. The service was friendly, I got recomended what to try and even though it was crowded the delivery was quick. The food was very good and well balanced and the meat was tender. I also enjoyed the style and atmosphere of the place, I felt like I have found a local gem.

Second visit 1,5/5 stars. Even though I orderd the same dish as earlier, the quality was completely different. The broth was very fatty and the meat was definatly not tender. This is truly a hidden gem. We walked past this place a few times from our hotel saying we would try it. Our final night in Hanoi we went because it was close by. I’m absolutely gutted we left it to last. It was by far the best pho we had in 10 days of being here and eating pho everyday. I cannot recommend enough.
