The set is priced at around 1.7 to 1.8 million VND (including VAT) for two people, which may seem steep at first glance – but rest assured, it is more than worth the price.

The portion is very generous: easily enough for three to four people to share without feeling shortchanged. The tiered tray is a feast for both the eyes and the palate, featuring a beautifully arranged selection of savories and sweets: • Savories included delicate finger sandwiches, freshly baked quiches, and rich pâtés on miniature toasts – each bite balanced and flavorful. • The sweets were equally impressive, with an array of pastries, tarts, and cakes that showcased both technical finesse and creativity. Not overly sweet, each dessert complemented the others well. • Freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam were served warm and perfectly crumbly – a highlight of the experience. • And of course, the tea selection was thoughtfully curated, with a wide range of premium teas from floral blends to strong, full-bodied black teas. The staff was happy to offer recommendations based on preference.

We went as a couple for the Christmas brunch, and with some exceptions, everything was great. The food was as good as expected, the cocktails were delicious, and the local staff walked us through the menu and the drinks. They were friendly, informative, and made an effort.

If there’s an improvement to be made, look no further than the non-Vietnamese staff (I can’t believe I say this in a Capella hotel; I’m a foreigner myself :-) ). Why do I say this?

As we arrived, by chance, we got in the elevator with a host staff member who made zero effort to be friendly. He was okay through our seating, but he made zero eye contact for 20 seconds in the lift or bothered to talk to us. Also, although I spent 10 emails worth to make a reservation (and succeeded), he tried to give us the worst seats in the room, almost touching shoulders with the bass player. I asked for a different table and guess what - our name card was on a table in a slightly better area (haha, dude, make an effort arrive earlier to work to know who’s where). Other guests with no reservation got better seats. Ooookay.

Although a bit rushed, the food and the drinks were great. We finished our brunch 15 minutes after the standard closing time (2:45 instead of 2:30 PM). In all fairness, one might say we overstayed our welcome. If that’s something to say for 5 star hotels, that’s on me.

When we left, we asked the hotel staff to show us the spa, and by mistake, we went up again by elevator to the Hudson Room floor. Well… well… the general manager who was also by the lift door made zero effort to put a smile on her face as the doors closed. C’moooon…

4 stars all the way, by international standards. But for la creme de la creme… Some simulated friendliness - smiling or talking with your guests will take you up to 5. It’s easy, just be kind. Especially on...

Dining at The Hudson Rooms was an absolute delight and truly one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. From the ambiance to the exceptional service and the outstanding food, every aspect of our experience exceeded expectations.

First, let me talk about the burger and oysters—they were simply out of this world! The burger was cooked to perfection, juicy, flavorful, and perfectly complemented by the fresh ingredients. It was one of those burgers that you just can’t stop thinking about. The Gillardeau oysters, however, stole the show. They were the freshest, most flavorful oysters I’ve ever had, a true delicacy that left a lasting impression.

What made our evening even more special was the incredible staff. Though I’ve forgotten his name, our waiter on the night of October 7th at 9:30 pm was fantastic. He was extremely sweet and took the time to give us a detailed explanation about the menu and even shared the fascinating history behind the Gillardeau oysters, making the whole dining experience feel both personal and insightful.

The level of care, knowledge, and attention to detail from the staff made all the difference and elevated our experience. The Hudson Rooms not only delivers amazing food but does so with genuine hospitality that makes you feel right at home.
