We were sat upstairs, just me and my partner with no other tables around which was strange as downstairs there were quite a few tables sat therefore a much livelier atmosphere. The staff were struggling to understand any questions I had about the menu making it an awkward start to the dinner. They brought out some complementary dishes to start, we tried a few bites of each but they weren’t really to our taste so we left them. We then asked a member of staff to take them away to clear space on the table and she almost scolded us telling us “they’re delicious, you should eat them” We had to ask her multiple times to please just take them away. We then were given the meat and, unlike any other Korean BBQ restaurant I have ever been to, a manner of staff cooked all the meat for us at the table, we were not allowed to cook our own meat. The whole reason I go to KBBQ is to have a fun interactive experience and cook the food myself. Also, because the woman was stood right there, it made it awkward for me and my partner to really talk and enjoy the meal mainly because she was dictating the pace of the meal and not asking us what meat we wanted and when, just cooking it and serving us. On the table, they offer different salt and pepper flavours to try but me and my partner were happy with the way the meat was seasoned so didn’t reach for anything until the waitress took it upon herself to start putting piles of salt and pepper on our plates without asking. To finish off this ordeal, we asked for the bill and waited about 5 minutes and no bill came so we then went downstairs where we were told they were having a problem on the tablets and we had to wait a further 10 minutes to pay. On our way out we noticed that there were many tables in the downstairs restaurant that were just cooking their own meals and not being pestered by the staff. It was my partners birthday meal which...
Read morePoor service spoilt the whole experience. The food itself was good but the staff was very poorly trained. They were friendly but behaved as if it was their first day at work
all in all the evening was very unstructured and chaotic f.ex. we had to repeat our order several times until the waiter finally understood it and even after that he forgot to bring one of the drinks we first got soup, then some of the starters and only after that finally our drinks while we were served the main dish we suddenly got another starter that they had forgotten to serve us before we have eaten salad, and after finishing the salad they put meat from the barbecue at the salad plates. Only after that they asked us if we maybe want new clean plates- it does not make sense to first put the meat on the dirty salad plates and after that asking if we want new clean plates- this is just an example of the missing structure of the service while we were served the steaks on the barbecue it was quite rushing, so we could not really enjoy the food
All of this might seem like small details, but regarding the high prices you would expect way better service. Fine dining requires more than good food, it also needs a certain...
Read moreVery nice ambience, cozy lighting. Charcoal barbecue at the table is awesome. We had the Wagyu set (USA) for two people (3*130 gr) and additionally ordered an Angus Ribeye (130 gr). Meat quality excellent, we found the best Wagyu pieces with higher fat content. Due to the ripening, the meat has a special taste - extremely delicious. Just add some salt and pepper and you're done. As a side dish we had a green salad, grilled vegetables and potato wedges and as starter fried dumplings. The quality of the side dishes was also top. We paid 90 € (including beer, water, cocktail), which is of course expensive for Vietnam but quite inexpensive for this enjoyment. Also the service was top. Our waiter Trinh has a very pleasant attentive nature and helped us with the barbecue (the meat is pre-grilled medium-rare and then finished grilling at the table grill according to taste). Conclusion: If you like to eat meat and want to treat yourself, this is the...
