Bonjour Resto' Nguyễn Trãi — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

I found this little French restaurant in Saigon by pure chance. It is situated in a rather small street. When I entered the place, there were an American man with a Vietnamese, eating a great lunch. Otherwise there were not many people there. I was greeted by the friendly waiter, got the menu, and saw that they had a nice selection of European inspired food. There was beef and lamb from Australia and NZ on the menu, but since I was not really hungry, I ordered slow roasted boneless Duck. It came with a sauce of choice (I opted for a garlic sauce), the tender lovely duck meat, a salad, a piece of bread, and French Fries. Food was not good Everything was bland I got the wagyu steak rare and it wasn’t cooked properly Not even charred on the outside The potatoes asparagus wasn’t seasoned enough They tasted just plain boiled and wasn’t good I got the salmon which was decent still too watered down And the shrimp pasta that tasted like watered down Alfredo sauce Shrimp was undercooked as well The only adequate thing to eat was their bread that you can dip with the sauce Definitely not worth the money I wouldn’t even consider this “western food” Denny’s diner in America taste better than this and that’s already low budget...

Have not had a steak in a long time, never a wagyu. So when I came across this Bonjour Restro in Saigon just 1min walk from my airbnb I had to give it a try! Had the AUS wagyu steak with red wine sauce and the pumpkin soup as a starter. Soup was quite tasty. A bit more salt and some pepper would have brought the flavour out even more, but I didn't ask as it really was fine as served. The steak was really soft, juicy and full of flavour.
