First and foremost, it was bad form give me a machine and ask me to rate my experience before even giving me a bill with the server waiting for me to input my rating. Then to give the bill, charge my card and then come back and let me know that I was not charged for something and I had an additional 170,000d I needed to pay was just ridiculous.
The menu selection was amazing, the food was decent, but there is a total lack of organization. Appetizers came out several minutes after entrees started coming out. They could not even get our drinks out to us all at the same time and before food started coming out. It was pure randomness of what came out and when: sashimi, maki, nigiri, rice dishes or pork entree.
And bringing bottle beer to the table with the cap still on and having to ask twice for someone to bring an opener was mind boggling. HINT: Never bring a bottled beverage to the table unopened! NEVER! And this wasn’t just once but every time.
Having to ask multiple times for spoons for the rice dishes was equally bizarre. There were 4 of us and we were obviously sharing the various foods but digging into the rice dishes with our chopsticks we had all started eating with would have been truly bad etiquette.
My wife and I eat Sushi on a fairly regular basis and at various places. So we’ve become familiar with middle to higher end Japanese restaurants. The atmosphere here is really great but everything else needs attention to...
Read moreThis is a run of the mill sushi restaurant. They have genuine original styles but there’s just a problem with the portions. Sure I understand this is Vietnam, but 250k which translates to 10 - 11$ for 2 pieces of otoro the size of my thumb 😒 which is very underwhelming. The rest of the dishes were ok, price vs portion, you’re getting a decent amount for what you pay. I can’t say much else for the taste. If you’ve ever tasted sushi, it pretty much tastes the way it should. Sashimi is a bit on the bland side, I think a few slices were bruised. The drinks are the highlight of this location. A huge selection, and very delicious. Didn’t get to try the dessert but I’m not too thrilled about those high calories.
Staff is very attentive, they try to give you a better idea of what’s good and what’s not. Their English is ok, they’ve got the basics down. The wait for the initial order took awhile but everything sped through pretty quickly after 15 mins. Only problem is the food was a bit cold, like the unagi steamed rice I ordered for my mother in law.
Final thoughts? It’s a standard sushi chain, nothing impressive and the taste is average. The only weird memory I made here, was being stuck in the elevator during power outage for 10 mins 😂.
3 stars for effort trying to save...
Read moreI was here Wed 23/7/25 lunch hour.
Location: Its location along the main road Nguyen Trai and iconic facade makes it easy to find. The crowd, a mix of locals and foreigners, that went through the doors—could it be that the food’s good? Though many diners, I was brought to my seat immediately. There was security outside who opens doors to diners.
Atmosphere: The spot lighting that made for a somewhat fine dining experience highlighted the food which made the visual experience pleasurable. Environment was well-kept, clean, and not noisy.
Service: The service was excellent--efficient, friendly, and staff spoke English.
Menu/Food: Its extensiveness and coverage of pretty much everything that a Japanese restaurant leaves you spoilt for choice, in a good way! I ordered a sushi salmon bento set. My food came in 15 minutes--delicious, fresh, filling, and came in black wood which I liked very much. Too bad they ran out of tuna that day. All in about 250000VND--which I find affordable considering food quality, service, and environment.
Final thoughts: I highly recommend this place especially for their bento sets and seafood. For a simple meal, perhaps a budget of 200-300K VND should be sufficient (no wines). I will definitely come back here on my next...
