I would give this place zero stars if I could, we sat down to eat a family we ordered a bunch of food then we saw a small sign that said we don’t take credit cards. I spoke to the manager, and I explained to him that I have US dollars or you could tell me where I could Exchange the money. They sent me across the street saying things would be open. I went to three places all of them which were closed at that time of night offered to pay in US dollars and multiple customers in their store and guarantee that they had enough cash to give me change but instead… they Let me pay for my drinks with my children and leave without having any food because they refuse to let me pay by credit card by US dollars by Venmo by Apple Pay by any other way. What appeared to be the owner in a suit came in as well, and I explained to him the situation and offered to pay in US dollars or by any sort of credit card method And he just said no, we can’t do this. They are across the street from Saigon center, which is a large tourist spot. This is very unacceptable and if your credit card machines don’t work, put the sign on the door so the customer knows before they sit down. And I was very excited to go to this restaurant, but I would never go the service Was horrible- the ambiance sucked. Little kids were running around not at their table. I have tried three other Indian restaurants in town all of which have been fantastic-I’d like to recommend the following: Tanishq and Makhan Bhog. I hope the management reads this review and then you do something a little bit better because this isn’t good enough! With small kids to put me through this at night...
Read moreI’m honestly very sad to be writing this review. We ate at both the outlets of this restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City. We ate at the first outlet and as we loved the food the second time we went to the second outlet. Unfortunately, my husband left his Gucci spectacles there. The next day we flew out and only discovered that he had left his glasses when we reached our next destination. I called the restaurant and the staff/manager named Pushpinder assured me that the glasses were there. I asked if they could courier it to me but they said they couldn’t and I could get somebody to pick it up instead. Coincidentally, my family friend was going there in a few days so I arranged to have him pick the glasses up. On reaching, my friend called the restaurant and the same staff member reassured him that the glasses were there at the restaurant. However, when my friend went to pick up, suddenly out of thin air, the glasses had disappeared. Despite lots of pleas, they were never found by the staff again. Pushpinder kept saying I had seen them here just yesterday but very conveniently, when my friend went to pick it up, they were gone. It’s of course our fault that we left the glasses there but I felt really shocked that after reassuring us that the glasses were safe and that we could come there even after a year and get them, the staff just refused to return it to us under the guise of not being able to locate it. It left a really bad impression of the management. The food was good, the ambience is pretty basic, the sort of place you eat and leave, nothing fancy. However, I wouldn’t recommend the place as the staff lack basic kindness...
Read moreI had high expectations for this restaurant but I left disappointed by the service, food quality and atmosphere.
The service was atrocious. The waitress was unprofessional and passive aggressive. She laughed at us when ordering? Then she spoke poorly about us to her colleagues because we asked for Tamarind chutney, saying we “couldn’t have anything spicy”. This was inappropriate and incorrect. Then, to make matters worse, she started popping her pimples in view of the customers. This was really odd and gross. Finally, she sat down at the back and stared at us while we ate our meal. It was really disconcerting. The male server was clicking his pen the entire time we were dining which was quite annoying. This review isn’t reflective of all staff this evening, as the Vietnamese waitress was very personable and professional.
We ordered dal makhani, plain tawa roti, pani puri and chai. The dal makhani was bland, however the tawa roti was very fresh. Pani puri was soggy and took 5 minutes for extra chutney (Tamarind). In fairness, the chai is good.
In terms of atmosphere, for an an Indian restaurant that is highly priced, I was surprised to see all plastic utensils; stainless steel would have been more appropriate. It was not worth the price considering the table cloth had holes in it.
Overall, I don’t recommend this restaurant if you want to enjoy Indian food in Ho Chi Minh. I recommend you go to Saigon Indian Restaurant which has fantastic service, quality food and much...
