The shop is beautiful & and an awesome place to get some work done. The design is modern & clean 👌🏼 In my experience, the staff have also been helpful.
However, certain hours are just a bit strange and unreasonable for a cafe/restaurant in the middle of a city. Kitchen closes at 3/3:30pm and is closed completely on Wednesdays. And then when it is open, and if you come too late, sometimes stuff is sold out.
The ‘croque monsieur’ is absolutely delicious. I’d 100% recommend it - but they don’t always have it available. The chocolate cake is also awesome. Very good quality.
The chocolate donut however is horrible - barely sweet and very stale with a hard texture. I’ve been gluten free for many years now and I’ve never had such a disappointing gluten free treat. I took a taxi across the city to come for food and the kitchen was closed, so I got the donut but was disappointed anyway. The bbq chicken pizza is also tiny and wasn’t my favourite with regards to taste - but not the worst. The chicken banh mi was alright, but the bread is very dense and soggy in places.
Overall, this place has so much potential, but needs a few tweaks with regards to quality of the food (especially because the prices are obviously higher for your gluten free element) and accessibility/availability...
Read moreThe moment we've all been waiting for, Saigon finally has its first actually good gluten-free cafe.
My girlfriend (who is not gluten free) and I (who have celiac) got the chicken avocado bread, the classic pizza, a mooncake, and a piece of lime cheesecake. Everything was great, with my girlfriend saying the mooncake was the best she has ever had. My personal favorite was the chicken avocado bread. For the surprisingly reasonable price of the menu, I'd give the food six stars if I could.
We didn't even try any of the huge selection of Cafe drinks the place has on offer.
I'm so happy that this place is really nailed their formula for gluten-free bread. Infinitely better than the dry, package stuff you get at gourmet grocery stores. In addition to the pre-made menu items, they sell gluten-free bread by the loaf. They sell GF birthday cakes, too.
The staff wasn't particularly friendly, but by no means bad.
The cafe also has an awesome atmosphere. The ground floor is sort of underutilized and the tables are empty, but the upper floor has a great design, a large playroom for kids, and a really nice studio style room where most people go to eat. Do you set up behind the counter on the ground floor is...
Read moreWould not recommend. Do not (Pre order bread), several hours ahead of time. There’s no point… Anyone ordering would expect that a bakery would use the pre-order system because the bread is baked fresh. Meanwhile it’s frozen, and the bakery simply takes it out of the freezer, and defrosts the bread. (hence the pre-order wait). Hard as rock, frozen ice in the middle.
The cafe has ridiculous hours, closing the kitchen before most people get off work. Kitchen is closed on Wednesday, which is not clear anywhere online, except in tiny print on the corner of their menu. I’ve previously driven across the city to have a gluten free meal at injoy but to see they close the kitchen. And or other times, was told the kitchen was closed at 3:00pm when on the menu says 3:30pm.
No understanding of food delivery services, as they use a shipping company to deliver. 1 hour plus delivery.. Ordered at 9:00am this morning, 3:30pm the order finally arrived. Bread is frozen, and chicken “nuggets” actually chicken strips, hard as rock and cold as ice.
Don’t waste your...
