Their marketing is strong, and their products have a unique appeal. However, my recent purchase has left me reconsidering my loyalty.
While I understand that premium products come with a premium price tag, I believe Marou's current pricing positions them alongside some of the more exclusive niche brands, such as Maison Pierre Marcolini. In my opinion, this comparison is somewhat ambitious. The New York Times once referred to Marou as "the best chocolate you will never taste," and while their quality remains commendable, the steadily increasing prices are becoming prohibitive.
On my latest visit, I purchased three items and spent nearly 800,000 VND. Although the chocolate is indeed delightful, the cost is becoming a significant deterrent. Unfortunately, as much as I enjoy Marou's offerings, I find that I can no longer justify the expense.
In summary, Marou Chocolate is undoubtedly a high-quality product with excellent branding. However, the escalating prices are pushing it out of reach for many loyal customers, including myself. It's disappointing to say, but I may need to look elsewhere for my chocolate indulgences...
