Pretty good desserts, though the 4 chocolates I bought all had a somewhat odd, sour undertone to them that I didn't enjoy. Definitely won't order any more of their chocolates. Far better to be had for much cheaper.
However, the tiramisu was quite tasty, I'd give it a 4 out of 5, and the Signature Marou drinking chocolate was also pretty good. For those comparing this to other premium international chocolates. I'm not sure what they're thinking. Still a pretty long way off, and I definitely don't think the chocolate here is worth the prices charged based on flavor alone.
However, what Marou does a good job with is branding, and experience, and the baked goods are pretty good. I found the flavor combinations for their chocolates intriguing, if only they'd get rid of that odd, sour undertone, and find a way to make their milk chocolate creamier.
The texture for each of the milk chocolates was very average, and gave me a similar experience as biting into cheap, store bought candy. Swiss chocolate is so famous because of how creamy it is. Few people crave a dry, sour chocolate eating experience.
Not trying to be so critical, but expectations were high after reading the reviews, so I do feel a bit disappointed. I went in with I tensions of bringing home at least a dozen bars and ordering one of every chocolate they had to snack on and give to friends as gifts. But after tasting their chocolates, I left empty handed, which never happens with me at a chocolate shop.
In short, lots of potential here, but they have a lot of work to do if they want to compare themselves with premium chocolates. I've tasted much better right here in Saigon. But hopefully they improve and grow.
Right now I'd guess its their baked items driving most the positive feedback. If I were to come back, I'd stick with those items and avoid...

Read moreI came here Tues 22/7/25 lunch hour.
Scene: There were people but not crowded, so there were available seats. The space is considerably huge and pretty upmarket, has a cocoa roast area, counter area, behind-the-scenes kitchen where the chocolates are made, and gift merch.
Food/Merch/Samples: Unfortunately I didn't get to try some of their chocolate desserts, but they looked very appetising and to me are priced affordably. I went straight to the merch area to get some chocolate gifts. There are samples to try which is highly appreciated and their chocolate is really good. Many flavours, mostly flat bar types, different sizes. Loved the packaging.
Final thoughts/tip: If you're coming here, may I suggest to pick up some of their bars--they look presentable as gifts. If budget is a concern, a small one sets you back about 70-80,000VND which I feel is reasonable. A pack of 3 comes up to around 250,000VND which I bought. May I also suggest you try their desserts which I didn't have a chance to try but they look too good to miss! Also, if you're buying the chocolate gifts, I suggest you ask them for assistance if you need--because it can be confusing--too many to choose from, unless you want to take your time to browse. I will def. come back here again for its prestige, quality of chocolates, and of course this time for...
