Read moreThis small hotel family run hotel was quite difficult to find on arrival, if you do not know how addresses in Vietnam works 100/4 is the 4th building along the alley next to 100, and at the time the this newly established hotel had no sign up. Fortunately for me the driver of my pick up from the airport came with me to the alley and was able to find the hotel. The room was large and clean with an on suite bathroom and gave the impression of being rather new.Large comfortable bed, TV and hot plate but otherwise spartan but functional furtiture. Language barrier was slight problem, the son in the family speaks English well but otherwise quite difficult to comunicate when he was not about. On arrival quite late at night I need a drink before bed and asked about the nearest coffee shop and from the directions I was given it seemed a long way away (actually my mistake and it was only across the road) and was the invited to join the Father for a drink, which I accepted. Whilst having the drink was also offered food. The next day when I got back to the Hotel the Mother gave me a bag of coffee and a filter to make coffee on the hotplate in the room. At the end of my stay I asked if they wanted extra money for the food and drink on the first night and the coffee and my offer was refused. Dispite the experience of the first night, once you have your bearings, the Hotel is easy to find, the road runs up to the museum shown on all the maps and is just around the corner from where the tram will run (silos provide a useful land mark) and the market. Only a 10/15 minute walk to City Centre sites.||If you like a hotel that is small, friendly and relaxed then you will have an enjoyable stay as I did with this...
Read moreRecently on the 6th of April we had a three-day vacation to HCMC and stayed at this lovely little homestay. The price was shockingly cheap comparing to the others that we looked at, only 800k VND per night to have a cozy two double-beds with a nice wall-sized window to catch all the sunlight at daytime. The room is new, cleaned, and tidy when we first arrived, with minor defects here and there (slight leakage of the AC unit, the window door cannot lock properly), but overall a pleasant stay. It is also located at the center of District 1, so all the hot spots (Bui Vien and Nguyen Hue Walking Street, Independence Palace, HCMC Museum of Fine Arts, etc.) are either within walking distance or a...
