⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the best Hainanese chicken rice spots in Saigon! I’ve visited “Com Ga Hai Nam (Singapore Style)” on Calmette Street a few times, and it never disappoints. The chicken is perfectly poached – tender, juicy, and flavorful with smooth skin. The rice, cooked in chicken broth, is aromatic, fluffy, and rich – just like how it’s made in Singapore. The dipping sauces are a big plus: soy sauce, ginger, and chili – all well-balanced and enhance the dish perfectly. The restaurant is clean, service is quick, and the staff are friendly. Although the space isn’t too big, it’s tidy and well-organized. Prices are very reasonable, ranging from 40,000 to 60,000 VND – a great deal for such quality. They also offer catering and delivery services, which is super convenient for office workers nearby. Located near Ben Thanh Market, it’s easy to find and perfect for both locals and tourists. I’ll definitely come back again and recommend it to friends. If you’re a fan of Hainanese chicken rice, this spot is a must-try in Ho...
Read more3.5 stars but just rounded it up to 4. It’s a pretty decent place with a very local touch and reminds me of Hong Kong and Singapore shop styles. They specialise in a lot of RICE meals including chicken rice, fried rice and meat rice combos. They also have a lot more in the menu highlighting the Asian dishes. Although the prices are just a little higher than simple local stores by the streets, their meat portions are quite big but the vegetable portions are very small for the price. Taste is very good but I was quite disappointed with the “scorched rice with crispy grilled pork” as it cane in oily deep fried PUFF RICE & not really the Vietnamese scorched rice. My sauted rau mong was very less in portion. The tables and the area is well-maintained in terms of cleanliness although it’s a side road seating. Good outdoor tables and easy parking. Staff are very attentive. It feels more like for tourists and backpackers. All in all, it’s a decent place to get...
Read moreWe stopped by this Singaporean-style chicken rice spot in Saigon and were really impressed! We ordered the classic chicken rice , some stir-fried morning glory greens, and a seafood soup — and everything was delicious. The chicken was tender, the rice was flavorful, and the soup had a rich, comforting broth.
Service was quick and efficient, making it a perfect place to grab a satisfying bite and keep going. Prices were reasonable too, which is always a bonus.
The only downside? It can get quite loud when the place fills up, so maybe not the best for a long, quiet meal — but for a tasty, no-fuss lunch or dinner, it’s a solid choice.
