First time the charm! Then it’s a gradual but definite decline. My family and I enjoyed the food there. Not the very best, but high quality for the money. We visited quite often because it’s close to home. Also the reason we overlooked the increasing uncomfort and annoyance from the experience and came back time again, until it became too much to bear.
I won’t comment on the staffs because they work hard, albeit didn’t produce an acceptable result.
Last time my family and I went, in 2 hours of dining, 1.5 hours was spent on waiting on food that might or might not come. Most of them didn’t come.
When the food did come, it wasn’t as expected. An example is the Beijing Roasted Duck. It was presented with terrible quality, a foul concoction of smelly meat and mushy skin. I tried a bite. Then I spat it out. Then bowl of fried rice came. The rice was undercooked. It was chewing like sand. I swallowed it, but couldn’t take another bite.
The meditation waiting and the practice of cheap magazine’s advice on lowering one's expectations are recurrent issues. Only because the last experience came with such gusto, like someone randomly slaps you in the face when you’re sunbathing on the beach, that my family and I decidedly quit the place.

Read moreI might be sensitive a bit but staffs at the lounge of Nikko Hotel failed to impress me and my first visit is not nice as what I expected. We approached the lounge but no one greeted us with nice smiles and warm welcome as hospitality industry is supposed to be like that as always. When we asked for hotel’s drink signature then she pointed on the menu. Later my friend asked about how many kinds of tea and the best one of it, waitress again showed us the menu. We don’t know much about high tea concept and the best kind of tea hotel might have and offer outside guest but staffs seem to be quiet and need more selling skills as well as show much eagerness and friendliness.
P/S: we firstly planned to enjoy Phuc Long - local brand as our favorite brand but we decided to enjoy 5 five star experience at The Lounge and happy to spend more money for what it worths for. However, coming back The Lounge is not what we think about. At this current stage, only local guests can support the hotel industry. Please make them happy with their choice by performing well what you have done well in the eyes of...

However, our most recent visit was a stark disappointment. Although the servers maintained their usual attentiveness, the food quality plummeted.
The typically reliable roasted duck and pork were surprisingly tough and tasted stale, the congee lacked any discernible flavor, the beef was overcooked and bland, and even the dessert fell short, tasting more like yesterday's leftovers.
The drastic decline in culinary standards was shocking and left a...
