We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor (but now just went back and saw that it’s a sponsored post…)
Anyways, we had high expectations due to the reviews and were ready to spend more than usual to get a supposedly unique dining experience.
When we first entered the restaurant, we noticed that there were only 2 groups dining in a restaurant that should seat 100+.
The waitress however, had a very welcoming attitude and guided us to our seats.
We ordered sliders, tacos, and nigiris instead of the teppanyaki set menu, which most likely was our first mistake. While the price per a-la-carte item was on the higher end, we had expected that the quality of the food would also be equally higher.
We also asked for tap water and received a confirmation from the waitress (more on this later).
The first issue we had during this dining experience was that the interval between each a-la-carte item was anywhere from 5-10 minutes. So you can imagine how it would feel to have a bite of a nigiri every 5-10 minutes. Considering the fact that the restaurant was basically empty, I’m not sure if the interval was intentional or just not well planned out.
The second issue was when I crossed my leg and accidentally scrapped the underside of the table, there was a significant amount of saw dust that came onto my leg. Thankfully I had a cloth napkin that on my legs. However, considering the restaurant location and price point, I wouldn’t expect such rough furnishing work.
The third issue is that some of the food items did not meet the quality that we would expect at this price point. The white tuna nigiri had tendons that made the sashimi rather chewy and the kobe beef nigiri, at 478K VND, was also chewy, not like any wagyu at all.
The fourth issue is that the kobe beef nigiri itself had a large plastic piece in it. Excluding the fact that this should probably never have happened at this price point, for a supposedly Michelin nominated level dining experience, the waitress did offer to comp the item. However, it turns out that the definition of comp means to still charge the full price for the item and only to remake one single piece of the nigiri and offer us two scopes of ice cream.
While the attitude of the service staff was satisfactory, the way that this incident was handled showed a lack of sincerity at this level of dining.
The fifth issue is that when we received the bill, the supposed tap water became a charge of 120k VND. From this, we felt that there was a mismanagement of the communication from the staff. Thankfully, the waitress was willing to really “comp” the water after I requested.
Overall, I would say there are a lot of areas left desired from this dining experience. I do hope that management can revaluate the business model of this restaurant to improve and provide a more satisfactory experience to diners...

Read moreI made an online reservations for 4 people tonight and definitely received an email confirmation however when I arrived the person at the front said I wasn’t on the list. She made a fuss going about checking/asking availability etc. We were the only group dinning besides one lone dinner. I’m not impressed as I had to go back up to my room at the Nikko to check my phone conformation. Also, I was also not impressed when we ordered the sashimi plater and wasn’t informed what type of fish was on offer (I had to ask). Lastly freshly squeezed orange juice in a huge wine cup was not pleasant to drink from.. The tempura and beef dish was excellent. The sashimi was fresh and plate presentation exceptional. The young man that help us take a group photo was lovely so I’m giving service...
