As someone who enjoys vegetarian cuisine, I recently had the pleasure of dining at Nhà hàng chay Phương Mai in Saigon and I must say, it was one of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time. I would give this restaurant a 5/5 rating for its fantastic food, service, and atmosphere.
The food at Nhà hàng chay Phương Mai was absolutely delicious. Each dish was expertly prepared and presented, with a great variety of flavors and textures. The menu included a wide range of vegetarian dishes, including stir-fried vegetables, tofu, and mock meat dishes, all of which were full of flavor and beautifully presented.
The service at the restaurant was also top-notch. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. They were knowledgeable about the menu and able to make recommendations, which was very helpful.
Finally, the atmosphere at Nhà hàng chay Phương Mai was also excellent. The restaurant was clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated, with a relaxing and comfortable ambiance. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great vegetarian dining experience in Saigon. The fantastic food, excellent service, and lovely atmosphere make it a...
Read moreThe new 'Phuong Mai “Vegetarian” Restaurant' Not as pleasant as the old one.
We were frequent visitors at the old restaurant across the street from Ben Thanh Market and we loved it very much, and were even given a 'VIP' card.
Our First experience of this new location was walking for ever asking whomever were it was, it was hidden so well, even the cab driver had no idea where it was.
The restaurant has morphed into a 'meditation' learning center as well as a restaurant.
While it is far larger it has lost all of its charm.
No Nice, pleasant staff that look forward to meet you and welcome you back. The food, at least the Curry Soup was creamy as delicious, everything else was mediocre.
The last dish we had was the banh xeo chay (Sizzling pancake???) more like a tasteless, very thin crape with tasteless bean sprouts with zero flavour. But Huge.
The meals were far more expensive and apart from the Creamy curry Soup not anywhere as tasty and pleasant as the food used to be.
Gone are all the Western Tourists and ‘foreigners’ and enter wealthy Vietnamese customers, alas.
The Friendliness has gone as has the Great affordable tasting food… Farewell Phuong Mai Restaurant we miss the old fabulous restaurant...
Read moreWow, where do I even start? The food here was absolutely phenomenal—truly exceptional! My wife and I may not be bloggers, but as self-proclaimed foodies who have explored countless vegetarian restaurants, we can confidently say this place ranks among the absolute best for anyone who loves vegetarian cuisine.
From the moment we walked in, the staff blew us away with their politeness, patience, and enthusiasm. They were incredibly helpful, answering all our questions with a wealth of knowledge about the menu.
Now, let’s talk about the food! We ordered some incredible dishes: Phù Trúc Thể Thiềng, canh chua, gỏi xoài, nấm Lộc nhung xào măng Tây, and to top it off, a refreshing drink of nước sâm đậu rang. Everything was nothing short of AMAZING! Each dish was perfectly seasoned—neither too salty nor too sweet—just the right balance of flavors that danced on our taste buds. The textures were spot on too; everything was fresh with a delightful crunch, not mushy at all.
Overall, my wife and I left the restaurant absolutely thrilled with our experience and can’t wait to return for more deliciousness! Thank you for sticking with me through this...
