To find this place, don't look for "Donut World," you'll miss it, like I did. It's the 2nd(?) store from the corner, and it's small. There is "Donut" in the name, but it's "Thế Giới Donut."
As the first donut place I've tried in Vietnam, it's pretty good. The donuts are all freshly baked, and they're all 16K ($0.65), which many places sell basic doughnuts for 20-30K.
They have a good variety. I wanted to try Vietnamese flavors. The white coconut was good. I ate that after trying a durian doughnut. The smell was pungent, and for me, the taste (even in doughnut form) did not change my opinion of durian - I don't know why it's popular? It tasted exactly like it smells, which was exactly durian... if that's what you want.
I tried the milk tea with kiwi (31K/$1.30). I thought it was going to be more of a mixed kiwi & milk tea.. but it was regular milk tea with small cubes of kiwi. It tasted alright, but it's probably the same taste as regular.
There is sidewalk parking in front, and the security guard will lock your bike (to protect your bike) if you stay long enough. It's probably better to...
Read moreSimply the best of the best of the best!!! I have had them since I was in middle school which was only a couple block away! This brings back so many memories! Definitely need to try their Chipmunk Donut which is covered with Milk Chocolate and a mixture of nut which gives you a very sensational flavor! There is also basic Chocolate flavor as well as Cheese! The difference between Vietnamese Donuts and American Donuts is that the Vietnamese has light dough and more air giving its soft but also flaky texture accompanying the delicious and liquidated chocolate or sauce on top. That’s right! They don’t use Icing sugar like the American donuts! Much better Flavor...
Read moreTasty donuts, kind staff, even with a language barrier 😊 No real seating inside (maybe on the 2nd floor? I didn’t explore), so you’ll be grabbing to-go. Donuts are not a hugely popular item in Vietnam, so I was expecting a very rudimentary donut shop, but they have a LOT of creative donut flavors and ideas here! The donuts themselves are quite light and airy, not dense at all, and I assume they aren’t fried. I’d love to see some cream-filled varieties in the future. Definitely stop in if you’re paying some nearby...
