I was extremely disappointed by this place due to how much expats raved about it. Among all these positive reviews, will anyone even care about this negative one? Yes, this is NY style. They got the sauce and cheese correct. The dough is off somehow. When you eat the crust only, you'll realize it. This makes the part of the pizza with crust only to be barely good enough to eat. If you eat this pizza freshly made, I would say it's about as good as an average slice in a cafeteria in NY but not a restaurant. It's definitely NY prices too at 130k for two slices. 50k for a soda. Don't get me wrong, it is good, as NY pizza style is good. It's just not great pizza. So would I pay 180k for mediocre pizza again? If you arrive and try to get a few slices, they'll only reheat it for you and it's not great. The dough will have become chewy. So if you badly crave an average taste of NY pizza, go here and buy a whole pizza so you can get it fresh. As for atmosphere, well it's a tiny place and I don't blame them for that but they really need to rethink how they place furniture. Why did they put a stand in the corner to take up space? It was so cramped for no reason. Unfortunately, pizza quality drops dramatically after 10 minutes so if basically have to eat it there for it to be decent but the place is so...
Read moreBeen craving NYC style pizza for a while now since I've been in VN for so long. Lucky that I showed up on Wed where they have Happy Hour prices. Prices are similar in Mondays also.
Order Supreme, White and Philly Steak slices and they definitely hit the spot. Flavors of the pizza really makes you wish you can savor it more. Crust wasn't overly big or fluffy nor was it hard and non-crispy. Friend wanted the honey garlic wings which to me wasn't a 10/10. We still ate it all though because it was definitely good though to not let it go to waste. Pleasantly surprised they had Bundaberg ginger beer.
Look forward to going back soon!
PS - If you come as a crowd, I'd recommend calling ahead of time. Most pizzas are cooked to order so unless you want to wait the 15-20 mins it takes to bake, call to order first. Also, seating is limited, by my count there were around 9...
Read moreI think I went in at an off time for pizza (middle of afternoon). There were 4 slices available, and all seemed to have sitting on the tray for a little while. After I had ordered (one slice of supreme - 60K/$2.40), another customer asked if that was all that was available. The girl said there was BBQ chicken in the oven. Had I known, I would have waited to try that (fresh and that flavor).
The slice itself is nice size, and the dough is good. The sauce used was not tomatoey pizza sauce. It tasted much more like bolognese spaghetti sauce.
As it wasn't the freshest, slice, I think it was kind of avg. The NY style buy the slice pizza I had in Japan Town was better, in my opinion, but had that...
