This was the best omakase I’ve experienced outside of Japan and I’ve been to many 1-2 star ones across the world.

Firstly, I’d like to say this is a more traditional style tasting experience. I can tell everything we ate was sourced from the fish to the garnish specifically by the chef. A true omakase experience for enthusiasts of food.

Of course this comes at a certain price point when important high quality fresh ingredients from Japan. This was acceptable to us as people who love tasting the best a culinary experience can offer.

While a traditional tasting experience, there are still a good level of creativity. But don’t expect coming here for a experimental palate tasting. It’s not by any means boring, but the choices made highlight the best of the best instead of trying too much to impress people.

I’d also like to say the head chef was very friendly to us and explained every dish with detail and even an illustration of what fish or seafood we are eating which was unique. Some even came with his own personal story of that particular fish.

The service was attentive as you’d expect with only a few seats. I wanted for nothing. I never had to ask for anything, a glass was never empty when I wanted a drink. The servers poured when cups when empty and asked if I wanted something more without being pushy when I was finished.

We actually came here 2x. One of our first nights in Saigon and we went again on our last night on a trip and it was a great experience both times.

The decor was beautiful and put us in a good mood as a small intimate atmosphere.

I would not be surprised if this omakase receives a star in the future as Michelin has started to come into Vietnam. It was certainly deserving compared to other omakase that had 1-2 ⭐️

Well worth the experience and we will be back next time we...

Magari DE Sushiya Kazu is hands down the best spot in Bangkok for authentic Japanese tuna and sushi. If you’re a sushi lover, this place is an absolute dream come true. The quality of the fish is unmatched—fresh, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The tuna, in particular, is a standout, with each cut showcasing incredible texture and flavor that’s a testament to the chef’s expertise.

The sushi is prepared with precision and care, highlighting the perfect balance of freshness, seasoning, and rice. Every piece feels like a work of art and bursts with flavor in a way that only top-tier sushi can deliver. From delicate sashimi to expertly crafted rolls, the menu offers something for every palate.

One of the best things about Magari DE Sushiya Kazu is its late hours—they’re open until 3 am, making it the perfect spot for a late-night sushi fix. Whether you’re wrapping up a long day or looking for an extraordinary midnight meal, this place has you covered.

The ambiance is cozy and inviting, with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes the experience even more enjoyable. The staff are friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about delivering an exceptional dining experience.

Magari DE Sushiya Kazu is a must-visit for anyone seeking the finest Japanese sushi and tuna in Bangkok. It’s the kind of place you’ll find yourself coming back to again and again. Highly...

Location: The restaurant is located hideaway in an alley which makes me a little bit confused to spot at the first time. Luckily, some neighbors gave me directions :) Design: I was very impressed with not only unique and elegant architecture but also a welcoming atmosphere when I first stepped into the restaurant that you can’t find out anywhere in Japanese restaurants in HCMC. Space: Even though the area is not as wide as I expected, (it has only 8 seats near the counter where you can watch the chef prepare the meal), I still felt its cozy and private. In case you want a much more private space, you should be booked VIP room in advanced. Dish: All high-quality material here is imported from a famous market named the Tsukiji Outer Market, Japan so please notice that the restaurant maybe closed in some days each month due to schedule of the market. At that day, I tried Eel Bowl lunch set which had Japanese eel and a lot of special ingredients that you should definitely try once in life. Besides, I have to say that the rice here is really soft and flavor. Service: This is the biggest point. The staff here from the manager, the chef and waiter, waitress gives such excellent service. They can speak English, Vietnamese, Japan fluently. Price: It must be much expensive for almost all Vietnamese however, it is worth a try. Highly...

**Exceptional Dining Experience at Sushi Rei!** I recently celebrated my birthday at Sushi Rei in Saigon, and I can confidently say it was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had! We discovered this gem through the Michelin Guide, and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, the calm and inviting ambiance set the perfect tone for our celebration. The staff was incredibly attentive, ensuring that every detail of our meal was perfect. The highlight of the evening was the omakase experience crafted by the talented sushi chef. He was not only skilled but also incredibly fun to talk to, sharing stories about the fresh fish sourced directly from Japan. Each piece of sushi was a work of art—exquisite in flavor and presentation. I’ve never tasted fish so fresh! To top it all off, we were served delightful fruit from Japan, which was a refreshing end to our meal. The lovely staff even surprised me with a special birthday treat, adding a personal touch that made the evening even more memorable. If you’re looking for an exceptional sushi experience in Saigon, Sushi Rei is a must-visit. I can’t wait to return! If you would like to catch a glimpse of my experience, including a closer look at the ambiance and dishes, feel free to watch the video I've linked here! https://youtu.be/IrIFNIicwyY?si=mKPq7ThleRwwnOU2

For me, this omakase restaurant is still worth experiencing, but it may not retain customers due to a few reasons as follows: Firstly, on the day I dined there, my friend wasn’t feeling well, so I ordered 1 hot tea and 1 umeshu. However, it seemed like the staff member was new because, despite my order, they kept asking multiple times for confirmation and stayed in the room for quite a while, which I found very bothersome and unprofessional. After taking the order, they brought 2 hot teas and 1 umeshu instead. This significantly affected the dining experience. Secondly, when customers order hot tea, it usually indicates they don't want to drink alcohol that day, so serving sake immediately after the kegani dish (the first dish) was not appropriate. Thirdly, while delicious food is a must at any restaurant, at this price range, I’ve eaten at some restaurants in Hanoi or Singapore that left me feeling fuller (both visually and physically) Overall, there were many small issues, from the sound quality to the staff, that made the experience feel unpolished. I believe the restaurant needs to train the staff more thoroughly to retain customers. I gave 4 stars as encouragement because I know all the staffs are trying their best.
