Workers should understand the menu items. I understand their can be language barriers so I used a translator. I asked what a Tokyo moon cake was and they said it’s our signature cake. I ask which cake is this and they pointing the NY cheesecake. Confusing, because that doesn’t seem right, but maybe there’s no such thing as a Tokyo moon cake and my question confused them. Let’s say that’s my fault then. Cool.
Then I ask them what a specific cake is made up and the response I got was “I don’t know, the boss made it”. I wanted to ask where the boss was but I felt like they didn’t really care about my questions so I let it go. This is bad, I have food allergies, workers should have a high level knowledge of the cake ingredients. I was turned off by this.
Anyway I got the cheese soufflé cake and I’m not sure the serving size could satisfy a 3 year old. I guess that’s my fault too cus the cakes are sitting in a window but somehow I missed it. That slice was seemingly 1/3rd the size of most of the other cakes. When I saw it for a second I wanted to push it back but I just ate it and left.
I probably won’t go there again because my days are numbered in this country, but they aren’t bad people. Don’t let my review necessarily stop you from going, your experience could be better. That said I didn’t experience the above avg hospitality I’ve come to expect in Vietnam. I’m not saying I need to be entertained, but I felt like they didn’t care if the got my business or not. And the fact you don’t know the ingredients and people have allergies is concerning for...
Read moreThe worst service I have experienced for many years. I've been visiting this place many times over several years. It has been great so far, until today. I ordered 2 drinks, one of which was a hot sweet potato latte. The drink came out at cool temperature as normal water. When I reported the issue to the waitress, she took the drink back and then REHEAT THE DRINK IN THE MICROWAVE TWICE???? I mean, what did they think about charging 80k for a drink and doing that to a customer? For the second time, it appeared on my table again with mushy foam on top with the reheated latte. It was so ugly, but I could not take a picture. When I asked the girl what did she think when serving such a drink to guests. The male owner thought I asked for more foam??? He took the drink and decorated the new foam on that same old latte. When the drink finally reached my table for the third time, I took a sip and decided to leave it at another without a second touch as I could not drink any taste except for hot water with a milky taste. That cup of sweet potato latte was undrinkable. I left this place after a 5-minute-arrival. Never going to reach this place again. Also, they asked me to pay the full amount of 2 drinks and 1 cake without any apologies being given. Tokyo Moon has successfully ruined my mood...
Read moreYou’ll find this modest quaint bakery in the Little Tokyo Town in District 1 of Sài Gòn with an array of hot teas, iced drinks, and desserts to enjoy. We ordered a matcha latte, a sweet potato latte, and a yogurt cheesecake. The sweet potato latte and cheesecake were delicious, and the matcha latte was way too sweet so I would order less sugar if you don’t have a sweet tooth. Each order comes with free tea so you can enjoy something warm with your treats. The ambiance and decor were super cute and the service was great from the staff. Overall, a great dessert shop and I would recco stopping by if you have the chance.
P.S. This shop is tiny with very limited seating, so perfect for solo travelers or groups of 2. The shops also encourages guest to stay around 20-30 minutes to make room for other guests, so this location is great for to-gos or a quick...
