While exploring Ho Chi Minh City, we stumbled upon Vo Roof, a hidden gem that offers an exceptional dining experience with a stunning view of the Sky Tower building. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, this spot is perfect for a memorable evening, just like the one my family enjoyed on Wednesday night.
The rooftop setting is cozy and tropical-inspired, creating a relaxing atmosphere where you can unwind and take in the cityscape. The view of the Sky Tower building, especially at night, is breathtaking and adds a magical touch to your dining experience. We were thrilled to have chosen this place for our evening.
Vo Roof specializes in modern Vietnamese cuisine. My two little kids loved the hearty, warm pho. My husband found hair in the food. That was not pleasant. Wish we didn’t have to experience. My banh Mi sandwich was good. It had avocado. Never eaten Banh Mi with avocado.
We were pleasantly surprised by the bar’s selection of classic cocktails, each crafted with artistic flair. If you visit, don’t miss their Happy Hour promotion from 2 PM to 7 PM, where you can buy 2 drinks and get 1 free on all alcoholic beverages, including beer, spirits, wine, and cocktails. We were glad our server informed us about this great deal. The staff at Vo Roof are friendly and attentive, ensuring that your visit is enjoyable from start to finish. Their commitment to excellent service is evident in every interaction.
Overall, Vo Roof is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy delicious Vietnamese food, great drinks, and an amazing view of the Sky Tower building. This place made our first night in Saigon truly...
Read moreI, a solo South East Asian traveller, visited this place on a random weekday as it was nearby to the clothing stores. Ordered chicken on sticks and one other dish. The chicken was nice, but the paired sauce was bad. It tasted watery. I also found the place to be unwelcoming. A waitress offered a pair of White diners a table at the rooftop. At first, I didn’t think much of the offer, perhaps only one table opened up for the earlier guest. But then, some minutes later, the same waitress offered another pair of White diners (who came after me) seats at the rooftop, completely skipping me. I was NEVER extended an invite. I later went to the toilet on the rooftop floor - and guess what? The rooftop was not occupied at all except for some diners (you can see from the picture)! Why was I, a solo Asian traveller, not extended an invite to sit at the rooftop? Does this restaurant only prioritise white people or people they believe are big spenders for rooftop access? I had the intention to order more, but decided not to as I felt unwelcomed. If you’re South East Asian traveling, find elsewhere maybe where you’ll feel welcomed.
Answering the response: No I did not ask for a rooftop seat. But your staff skipped my table not once but TWICE and didn’t even extend the invite to me! You can clearly tell from the photo that there are plenty of seats available. Your waitress asked two groups of diners but didn’t stop to ask me. Neither groups of diners you asked had a prior reservation because if they did, you wouldn’t have asked if they wanted a seat at...
Read moreAs average as it gets. Food is okay but i wouldn't eat here again. Severaly overpriced for small portions and pretty bland.
I know my one comment isn't gonna make a difference but if you have to wait for getting a table, then just use it as an opportunity and leave.
UPDATE TO ANSWER: I never said that it's expensive, I would have found your restaurant appropriately priced, if what I tried would've been good, since it wasn't, I called it overpriced.
But I'm happy to go into the details. Sitting on the ground floor in the middle is horribly inconvenient. People are continuously walking next to you, and while the personal pays attention not to bump into your table, at least 3 guests bumped into my table or me while I was eating (not fun).
I had the beef stew which was simply bland, the meat was chewy and didn't not arrive to my table hot so I assume it was just heated up, not too well.
My friend had the chicken nugget dry pasta with avocado sauce which had a sizeable bone in it. But he was satisfied with his dish, that's why the 3 stars and not less.
Juices for 55K + VAT are 60% ice. And again, i don't mind paying even more for my food and service, if I fee like that the quality of it justifies it. Today, I felt like it didn't.
And the cherry on the cake was the wet towels for 3k on the table. Again, i don't mind paying for it, but the water that was supposed to be used to wet them already had some material...
