Restaurant is secondary to the loud Lounge, and too expensive for this quality level. First sign: walk through super loud Lounge to go upstairs to mercifully quiet Restaurant -- but still hear the beats like a Harley Davidson parked behind me, and I can actually feel the vibrations in my hands on the table; it is not possible to focus on the food, the "fine dining" experience. I was dining solo, and when seated I was one of only 5 people in the entire restaurant -- which was set up attractively with tables and candles for 75 or so; for most of my meal, I had the entire restaurant to myself! I sat at my empty table and waited... and waited: most fine dining places would offer an amuse and small drink to at least occupy the table and keep the diner entertained, not here. I got the top-flight 7-course dinner with matching wines (shucks, it was my b-day, why not?!). Courses were well-paced, well-sized, and well-executed, but not stunning -- something I would have expected at this price point. Yes, I'd like some sparkling water; oops, didn't realize it would add 70Kdong to the price. Sure, I'd like to wrap up with one more glass of that lovely late harvest wine; oops, another 170Kdong. Despite the menu stating "WITH FREE FLOW WINE, COCKTAILS, BEER & MIXED DRINKS". For about 3Mdong, you'd expect water and a drink, and I never saw a cocktail. I think the place has promise but it really needs to get serious about diners instead of deaf drinkers downstairs -- or close the restaurant and admit the Lounge is the cash-cow, and stop the pretensions of...
Read moreWorst place ever! We stopped on our way for dinner to have a drink. We had 2 Spritz Campari. First we had to ask the bar tender to actually put a bit more Campari as the official dose did not even colour the ice water and, despite the extra dose, the drinks remained almost water colour. To our surprise the spritz was not made adding Prosecco but Chardonnay (probably they did not want to open a bottle) which obviously did not have any bubble. We were asked if we wanted something to eat and I answered if they had the usual complimentary peanuts or chips offered with aperitifs. After a while they brought us a small plate of cashew nuts that tasted old and stale. Meanwhile, while sitting at the counter, we witnessed the bartenders cleaning the long stearers by putting it in their mouth before using it again and again while preparing more drinks! When the bill came, as it was happy hour, we were charged 160K for one pinkish water drink and 120K for the cashew nuts!!! So basically 323K vnd for two glasses of pinkish water accompanied by a small plate of old cashews! Stay away from this dirty rip off awful place smelling of smoke as they still allow to...
Read moreI stopped by Xu Restaurant for a drink, and I was pleasantly surprised by the great atmosphere and excellent selection of cocktails! The lounge area was cozy and inviting, and the bartender was knowledgeable and friendly. I enjoyed trying out some of their signature drinks, and the prices were reasonable. The service was top-notch, and the staff were attentive and welcoming. While I didn't dine here, I was impressed by the overall vibe and the quality of the drinks. If you're looking for a great spot to grab a drink and unwind, Xu Restaurant is definitely worth checking out. The promotions and events they have, such as 'Ladies Night', are a great bonus too! Overall, I had a great experience at Xu Restaurant, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to enjoy a...
