Had the full english breakfast here, and I have to say it’s the best I’ve had in SE Asia. The sausages are proper, and same goes for the hash browns, bacon, and beans. The portion size is huge, which is great for a hangover!
The reason I’ve rated 3 stars is because I was told I was not allowed to drink water from outside. I think this is ridiculous. Not only was it 30C+ outside, but having just paid 250k for a meal, I would expect to be allowed to drink my own water. If water was provided free of charge, this would be perfectly understandable, but it isn’t. They did provide free iced tea, but it’s not the same. No blame to the staff here, they were lovely - I’m sure it’s just a rule they’ve been told they have to enforce. But said rule is unacceptable - a real shame because otherwise this place would have been deserving of 5 stars.
EDIT RE RESPONSE: I do not agree that the ability to drink your own water is being entitled. I understand a no outside food/drink policy, but believe this would be more applicable to drinks that are not required for you to stay alive. You have asked why I would not be ‘entitled’ in my home country, but supposedly am being so here. In my home country, it is possible to drink the tap water anywhere, and as such it is provided free of charge in ALL establishments. Therefore, this is simply not an issue that would occur in my home country. Following your own logic, if it is ‘only’ 15K for a bottle of water, why not just give it away for free? If you can afford to give away tea, surely you can give away water, the cost per unit would be lower. Your explanation just feels like a feeble excuse to try and wheedle more money out of your patrons in an already...

Read moreAfter 13 long hours on a sleeper bus, my partner and I decided to treat ourselves to an American breakfast at Cafe Culture. I've held off on Eggs Benedict (my favorite breakfast) while travelling in Vietnam for fear of being disappointed, but after reading a number of glowing reviews, I was persuaded to give this one a shot.
In a word- perfection. I couldn't help but "mmmm" with every bite and follow each swallow with a "yum" or an "oh my god." Eggs, poached to perfection: runny and smooth with a fully cooked white. And the bacon, divine - flavorful without an excessive amount of fat, cooked nearly to the point of a crunch, but not quite. Ideal.
The best part, surprising and satisfying, integral to Eggs Benedict- the hollandaise. So easy to ruin, so difficult to perfect, so utterly perfect it deserves a paragraph of it's own. Creamy and luxurious with just a touch of citrus- not too much to overpower but enough to add a hint of tang, and perhaps the most critical aspect of a good hollandaise. Nothing about this meal disappointed; I left with a warm glow and a full belly worthy of a morning nap.
Not to mention the service, which was outstanding. Scott, who I presume is the owner, is a warm, good-humored man with a passion for creating and sharing excellent food. It shows in the way he treats staff and customers, and the pride he takes in the food he serves at Cafe Culture. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone passing through Nha Trang. The price is more than fair for the quality of food and service you will...
