Read moreHad a wonderful all you can eat lobster buffet dinner with my date. The food options were plenty and had varieties from western style cuisine and Asian cuisine, but primarily Asian focused (sushi, Korean, and local Vietnamese dishes, etc). The food was very good and beautifully presented; did not find a good item that I did not like.
Upon first arrival, my date and I weren't sure whether to stay and eat there due to not being able to see the buffet line and not knowing what options there were, but Harry (One of the managers I assume?) saw our indecision and stepped forward to help us. He showed us the buffet line and explained the menu and food options. Harry was very helpful both at the beginning of the service and throughout.
Sam was our primary server and she is very good. She explained every dish in detail and was very knowledgeable. Our table was never left with a mess; Sam was quick to come and remove any unused plates. Sam was also very prompt in getting us any refills or requests we made.
The restaurant's special all you can eat lobsters were very large and the meat firm. They had 4 different seasonings you can get your lobster cooked with (Garlic sauce, pepper sauce, sweet chili sauce, and a cheese sauce); I happened to like the garlic sauce most.
We fully enjoyed our evening, the ambiance was good, the food was great, and the service excellent. I highly recommend Ngon Galley and will visit again...
Read moreWe were expecting a delicious buffet but we're left unimpressed. Per person, you get a lobster cooked with one of 3 sauces. We tried both the chilli and the garlic lobster and they were both underwhelming. The taste of the sauces simply did not compliment the lobster well. The chilli sauce was much too sweet and the garlic lobster was way too cheesy.
For the buffet line, the restaurant stressed the quality of the seafood, much of which was imported from Japan and other places around the world. That's all well and good, but even the freshest and highest quality seafood will not taste good if left out to go cold and rubbery. Maybe they need to work on the heating systems for their pots?
The price of 1.25m VND without house wine and beer was also extremely high. Adding a drinks package is a further 600k per person (not worth it imo). The buffet at Sheraton (Feast) is 750k VND, admittedly with only half a lobster, but includes unlimited house wine/beer/soft drinks.
The girls at the door seemed to be jaded by all the rude people trying to get a seat even though they hadn't booked, which is understandable. On the other hand, the service by the wait staff once you got inside the restaurant was attentive and friendly. A high note for us.
To conclude, better food can be had elsewhere, but you could spend your money on...
