Upd. The female owner is really unfriendly, ruined my mood during dinner. Well, she is friendly if you order a lot and don’t complain. Furthermore, once I saw her being hysterical and attacking physically her boyfriend in front of other people, so she is very aggressive and unfriendly person but tries to hide that.

The sweet and sour squid smelled pungent/rotten near tentacles. I assume it got spoiled because it’s hot outside: they do not store their seafood on ice. So when I complained, her reaction was pretty unfriendly. She said that nobody before complained about food pointing at other white tourist, and that I don’t have to eat and I don’t have to pay. But I was already too hungry because I had waited for my order for 30 minutes, so I ate the parts that didn’t smell and paid. Very unpleasant.

Pho ga was tasty, though I clearly felt MSG in a broth, so it was not very authentic. The tofu with lemongrass was bad: a lot of oil and bitter taste. The price for everything is slightly lower than in...

Most if not all restaurants along the small lane leading to our accommodation, the Cassia Cottage, are relatively better wrt those on the main road in both food quality and price.

We came to the Colors for a late light lunch, and have ourselves a Pho Beef, a grilled squid with salt/chili, plus a coconut and white Saigon beer. The pho surprisingly wasn’t good as the beef was overcooked and tough, and the pho was undercooked on the other hand. However the grilled squid was excellent as it was grilled to perfection, chewy and tasty. I guess that was why most reviews were done on the bbq’ed seafoods instead of local dishes.

In addition, the lady owner (I believe) was very friendly, the foods were served very fast and the atmosphere was top notch (probably the nicest one...

Disappointed with the grilled shrimp with chilli and salt - not totally convinced we got the fresh prawns that were displayed - prawn meat was soft and tasteless and the shell would not peel easily ....also ordered 1 squid after asking 2 different staff the cost and was told 150 for 1 squid - come to the bill and it was magically 260 ....usd10 for 1 squid you have to be kidding right ?
