This is an OK family run restaurant situated just off the main road down a side street leading to Sunset Beach. Being so close to the fancier beach side hotels and a thoroughfare to Sunset Beach, I was quite surprised that their menu prices were reasonably priced. Regina Restaurant is a modest establishment providing only open air style dining (but covered) and their service is friendly. The restaurant caters for most tastes (standard Vietnamese cuisine, hamburgers, pizza, pasta, salad etc.) and has a basic range of beverages (beer soft drink, juices, smoothies etc.). I ordered Banh Xeo (pork) and their version of a Caesar Salad (which is vastly different from the proper version). Overall, it was just average which was a shame because the family are very friendly and welcoming and I wished I could offer a higher rating. However, the Banh Xeo (they serve the large version.- seems to be standard in these Southern regions) was a little oily and weirdly contained broccoli, though overall it tasted alright. The Caesar Salad was a bit of a disaster and was served up to me with half the ingredients missing. I had to ask for the missing ingredients that they portray on their menu. I don't understand why this could occur as they weren't even busy. That said, and when most of the missing ingredients were added, it was an ok tasting salad with fresh vegetables. I did return to give them a second try on another day for lunch, but they weren't open. Noticing that even on another day they weren't open either...so during the quiet season maybe they are only open at night (try after 6pm...
Read moreA true hidden jam in the area! Compared to other places a food is better and the service and attention to detail is exceptional. They have several ways to fight mosquitoes, the menu is very clear but they can also do swaps. We were there once while there was electricity outage and they brought us candles immidiately with complimentary banana cake, appologized for the inconvenience and explained which selections are still available from the menu. Regarding food, my personal favorite is phu choc burger and mango homemade yogurt. Unfortunatelly they do not accept credit...
Read moreSadly, we don’t understand the good reviews. Our rice noodles were overcooked and soggy. Slightly tastes like cooked pasta, (maybe pasta and rice noodles are cooked in the same water?) Also compared to all the Bun Thit Noung we ate in Vietnam, these were flavorless. The juices are watered down.
Staff is friendly but sometimes clumsy. Note that you can only pay by cash. The table cloth had so many dark stains on it.
Strongly recommend to eat somewhere else, if you look for Vietnamese food. Just go up the hill on the Main Street. Tasty food for half the price and better...
