Yerevan Drama Theater by Hrachya Ghaplanian — Attraction in Yerevan

🎭 Brilliant acting, 🚫 poor air quality in the Theater…I recently attended Hamlet at the Ghaplanyan Dramatic Theater on October 3rd. It was an extraordinary and very contemporary interpretation — the acting, direction, and overall performance were truly outstanding. The actors gave powerful performances, and the creative vision was both bold and inspiring.

However, I was deeply disappointed by the disregard for the audience’s comfort and health. Smoking took place both on stage and during intermission, when many people gathered on the balcony to smoke, letting smoke drift into the theater. This shows no consideration for people with disabilities, respiratory, or sinus issues. Moreover, smoking on stage sends the wrong message to young audiences.

Art should inspire — not harm. I truly hope the theater will reconsider this practice, because the artistic quality deserves a smoke-free environment.

🇦🇲 Հայերեն կարծիք

Անցյալ օրը՝ հոկտեմբերի 3-ին, ներկա էի «Համլետ» ներկայացմանը Ղափլանյանի դրամատիկական թատրոնում։ Շատ ժամանակակից և տպավորիչ բեմադրություն էր․ դերասանների խաղը և ռեժիսորական մոտեցումը հիասքանչ էին։ Ներկայացումը բարձր մակարդակի վրա էր, իսկ Օթելլոյի դերը կատարող կին դերասանուհին գերազանց կատարում ունեցավ։

Սակայն շատ ցավալի էր տեսնել, որ հանդիսատեսի հարմարությունն ու առողջությունը անտեսվում են։ Ներկայացման ընթացքում բեմում ծխում էին, իսկ ընդմիջման ժամանակ հանդիսատեսը դուրս էր գալիս պատշգամբ և ծխում՝ ծուխը ներս բերելով դահլիճ։ Սա անընդունելի է հատկապես այն մարդկանց համար, ովքեր ունեն շնչառական կամ առողջական խնդիրներ։ Բացի այդ, բեմում ծխելը սխալ օրինակ է երիտասարդների համար։

Թատրոնը պետք է ոգեշնչի, ոչ թե վնասի։ Խորապես հուսով եմ, որ այս գեղեցիկ արվեստը կզարգանա...
