The City Botanic Gardens in Brisbane are truly a green treasure right in the heart of the city. From the moment you step through the entrance, you’re greeted by beautifully maintained paths, lush tropical plants, and towering heritage trees that make you forget you’re in the middle of the CBD.

What I love most is the variety—peaceful lawns for picnics, shady spots perfect for reading, winding riverfront paths for a scenic walk or cycle, and themed gardens showcasing everything from bamboo groves to palm avenues. The lily ponds and ornamental gardens are stunning, and you can often spot water dragons basking in the sun.

The location couldn’t be better—just a short stroll from major hotels, Queen Street Mall, and public transport. There’s even a café inside the heritage Curator’s Cottage for a relaxing coffee or lunch. Families will appreciate the children’s playground, and fitness lovers can take advantage of the open spaces for yoga, jogging, or outdoor workouts.

The gardens are spotless, safe, and free to enter, making them a must-visit whether you’re a local or a tourist. It’s the perfect escape from the city rush and a reminder of Brisbane’s beautiful, subtropical charm. Highly...

Tucked away on Edward Street, the Brisbane Botanical Gardens is a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. As I strolled through the gardens, I was struck by the sheer beauty and diversity of the plant life on display.

The gardens are meticulously maintained, with winding paths, sparkling water features, and picturesque picnic spots. The variety of flora is stunning, with everything from towering trees to delicate wildflowers.

What truly sets the Botanical Gardens apart, however, is its ability to transport visitors to a peaceful, serene world. The gardens are a haven for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone seeking a moment of calm in the midst of a busy city.

Whether you're a local or just visiting Brisbane, the Botanical Gardens on Edward Street is an absolute must-visit destination. Admission is free, although donations are appreciated. With its breathtaking beauty, peaceful atmosphere, and rich history, this garden is a true gem in the heart...

I was really looking forward to writing this review since I am familiar with these gardens from my brother-in-laws wedding. We took heaps of photos next to the pond, but I had never taken the time to explore other parts of the park. Well, we made time to look around, and I was a little let down. Don't get me wrong... the park is very lush and green with lots of different species of trees and a scattering of flowers, but I expected a larger abundance of flowers. The gardens do have ample benches located around the park and wide open green spaces that are ripe for a blanket and a nap or sunbathing. There is even a small play area for kids (that was very crowded) that offered an escape from the sun and welcome distraction for any little ones. If you want to see lots of different flora and fauna, then this may miss the mark. If you are more content with walking in a lovely park and snapping a few photos near a pond or water features, this might be an...

If you love nature, you love to either exercise, relax & or read a book, this is the place to be. Situated along the Brisbane river, whether you live in Brisbane or are just visiting - these gardens are a must. The grass is amazingly soft, lush & green, the paths filled with so many sub tropical plants, beautiful foliage, colours & different varieties of flowers to admire. You will encounter some wildlife as well. The rainforest walk is definitely worth it, you can also stop at the cafe for a quick coffee or breakfast & for the kids, there is a beautiful playground for them to enjoy!
