Last night my girlfriend and I visited the cinema for the first time. A friend had recommended us to go there in the place of the "traditional cinema", for being a private room, the possibility of having dinner there and being able to have a beer. It was therefore that I decided to become a member of the club, since I had a good reference of it. However, my experience last night was completely different. We bought a ticket to watch star war at 9:15 pm in the GOLD room at Elisabeth Theater. Therefore, we arrived there at 9 pm, ordered food and drinks, and went to the room. Just when the movie is going to start 20 minutes after entering the room, the staff that attended us entered the room to say that unfortunately the kitchen is closed and we cannot get our order, that we can get chips or fried (with the movie started, obviously I was not going to waste time and decide something fast). Which made me very angry that I didn't have that information before, therefore, we decided that we would have dinner when we left the movie. however, 5 minutes after the same boy interrupts in the room to say that unfortunately they have no money back policy and that in return he gives me 2 complementary ticket to return to the cinema (does not include room gold, nor Saturdays after 5 pm , etc.) At the end of the movie about midnight we try to talk to the boy since we obviously disagree with what happened, and his answer is that he can't do anything because he has been working there for 2 weeks and he doesn't know how the complementary tickets work either.
Outcome
-We went to the cinema, to the gold room, for dinner, and it was not possible. -We paid $ 32 for a dinner that we could not and received a complementary ticket in exchange (probably not for the value we paid for dinner) -We also do not receive our free ticket for our first paid visit (for joining the club) I feel completely scammed
In short, as I said our first visit has been disappointing.
After all our problems, the manager contact us to try to fix it. Finally, he give us some extra ticket and his apologies. Due to his good maners we dicided to come back and give one more oportunity...
Read moreShocking 'service' by an older lady. Booked in for the royal room and organised to eat there as their menu was extensive and I wanted arancini balls. The woman sighed and told me to go to a café (very rudely with huffs and puffs I may add) as the food there was bad! Wow....working for a company I have never encountered anyone bad mouth it as this woman did with such contempt in her voice! I had my phone camera on as I was recording the entrance and have it all recorded if management needs it. It was very annoying as my friend and I had to bring food from Starbucks to the cinema and risked being late. There are signs everywhere saying no outside food so it was all very strange and confusing/upsetting as she growled at us the whole time. Wetried to be overly polite and basically begged for a beer in which she poured all froth and refused to give me a member discount for popcorn. Her reasoning (??) was that the owner had decided to throw an event the night before and everything was in disarray?? Anyway, we were the only ones there and it's a shame. I will never visit again. I've never experienced anything quite like that to be honest and i wish I had said something to her as we did not deserve to be treated like that...

Firstly, this is the historic Irish Club building. Don't be fooled by the street level entrance. This iconic building is simply stunning and steeped in history. It's like stepping back in time. Lush fittings, from a bygone era, including a fully equipped bar, of which many high class hotels would be proud.
The staff are cheerful and obliging and nothing is too much trouble.
Do yourself a huge favour and treat yourself to the premier experience. Electric recliners in a small intimate theatre that seats maybe 20 to 30 people. Being able to avail oneself of the purchases from the previously mentioned bar, whilst enjoying some of the latest movie releases and more boutique releases, is in itself a wonderful experience.
Then, just as you're thinking, 'this couldn't get any better' the attendant says, 'that'll be $16 thank you sir'. SIXTEEN DOLLARS for the premium experience. I can't remember how many years ago it was, that I paid so little to attend the cinema, let alone a premium experience.
This has become my new cinema of choice. The entire experience was sublime. Next time I'll book a room in the city and avail myself of all this wonderful venue has to offer.
Highly...
