The worst accommodation experience in my entire life by far. If you are wanting to stay somewhere where you are treated like it is your privilege to stay at their hotel and dishonest dealings and bullies then this hotel and the group it belongs to is for you.
Owned and managed in Bangkok, board of Directors are all men and wow does this place need a woman’s touch physically and culturally.
Financially this group isn’t doing well, Asia Pacific and the Middle East are it’s primary locations and it is trying to recover from serious liquidity and debt equity issues from a brief look at their reports to their investors.
No one helped me get luggage and computer or work files up to the room and didn’t even turn the lights on. Pitch black hallway, into a room with a staircase two steps directly from the units front door - inside the unit! Pitch black in the room, heavy door with no stop or struts - a disaster!
Service - shocking Hotel - fine Price - whatever they decide at the time Booking/reservations - the worst
Absolutely no care, concern or compassion. I have never been so glad to leave - four blokes all standing there and again I had to ask them to help with loading luggage to cab. I wouldn’t have except I could barely walk after the disaster with the door and stairs mentioned above.
If you are a woman traveling alone do not stay here and I wouldn’t take my kids anywhere near this hotel if you paid me.
Oh and it was freezing cold! The split system in the bedroom hasn’t got a chance with the 20 foot ceilings and concrete structure with...
Read moreWe had a good enough stay at Oaks. A family of four in a two bedroom apartment. The place was clean and comfortable, but a few things lacked. Firstly, the kitchen was not stocked well. Just one set of cutlery pr person, just a few pans and no good knifes or a scissor. We stayed 5 nights and had to put on the dishwasher every day. Which again meant we had to go to recepetion every day to get dishwasher powder. The kitchen could use an upgrade. The other thing as internet. Each apartment can only connect 3 devices on their code. As a family of four with two devices each (phone and Ipad) this was a hassle. It said to disconnect one thing to connect another, but this did not work. Reception gave us guestcodes, but they only worked 24 hours, so we had to ask for a new code each day. Lastly we were not able to use our balcony and the AC (?) box was situated right next to the table there so it made noise and blew out wind. Not a huge issue for us, we were also on one of the lower floors so didnt have a view and not much sun. |The children used the pool and enjoyed that, the reception staff were friendly and the location was great. Washer and dryer function well.|If we were to return to Brisbane and wanted a selfservice apartment I am sorry to say I would look elsewhere. If we were using it as a hotel with a good location I would...
Read moreThe location is perfect for staying in the CBD and just a touch closer to the Botanic Gardens if you're going to an event on that side of the city.
Downstairs is parking for the hotel at around $45 per night, or directly next door for $11 overnight. (weekend rate I believe).
There is no restaurant in the building but the apartment is fully equipped and there are Asian supermarkets as well as Coles within easy walking distance as well as a plethora of eateries.
As expected there is a bit of noise, being in the CBD, and rooms are not soundproof. The receptionist was lovely and even called to make sure I was on my way and had access if I arrived after hours.
The apartment is spacious and clean with great block-out curtains for the night so the surrounding lights don't keep you awake.
The shampoo and conditioner supplied are pretty good so if you forget to pack your usual brand don't fret. The bodywash was also great with a fresh clean smell to it that wasn't overpowering or weird.
The sofa was a wee bit firm, but I wasn't spending my days sitting on it so, no biggie.
I'd...
