Kangaroo Point Bridge — Local services in Brisbane City

The Kangaroo Point Green Bridge is a fab new connection for pedestrians, cyclists and scooter riders. A new landmark, we cyclists of the south east side fully welcome another safe way across the river to town. Pedestrians also welcome another crossing, which doesn't involve breathing a lot of carbon monoxide on the Story Bridge. The bridge's design is modern, but with classic elements like the tower, and complements the two other green bridges connecting Woolloongabba and South Brisbane to the city. This bridge will also take passenger pressure off the cross river ferry services. We've been walking the dog across the 460 metre span to the Botanic Gardens and back, its extremely scenic at sunset. I've yet to try the cafes on the town side of the bridge, but they look interesting. Dedicated lanes for each direction if you are a cyclist or pedestrian. Plenty of shade and lighting along the bridge, additionally they have cameras which makes you feel safe when walking over the bridge of a night time. Kangaroo point Bridge is an impressive new bridge connecting Kangaroo Point to the CBD. Great features include seats to take in the impressive views, shaded walkways and interpretive signage to explain local heritage. Ample signage to separate walkers from bicycle and scooter users. Should cut down commute times for the locals in Kangaroo Point that were using the story bridge previously. Will be exciting to see the new restaurant...
