Read moreSecurity staff are on a power trip and completely out of line. Prior to arriving at the Casino My husband and I had been to an event at the Camfield on a Wednesday night. We had dinner and 3 drinks each, my husband had 1 full strength beer and 2 mid-strength beers over the course of the evening between 6pm and 10pm. When the event finished we headed to the casino with the intention of spending a few hours gambling before heading home. We entered, I needed to use the toilet, my husband waited outside of the toilets for me and then we asked a staff member where we could find the ATMs, as we were headed to the ATM my husband mentioned to me that the security guards seemed to be following us. All of a sudden there were 5 security guards surrounding us and they asked my husband if they could ask him some questions. They asked if he’d been drinking and he told them yes he’d had 3 drinks at an event earlier in the evening, they asked if he’d eaten to which he replied yes we ate dinner at the Camfield. They asked what he ate which he relayed the meal he had eaten, they then asked if it was good, he said yeah it was alright. And then they proceeded to tell him that he was swaying while walking and they could smell alcohol on him and that they needed to escort him out. Like what the actual hell is that about. He was not intoxicated, had not spoken to anyone or given off any drunk vibes, they reckon they can tell. They wouldn’t even let us exit via the entrance we came in through which meant we had to walk all the way around and try and find out way down to the outside car park area. As we doubled back we just went back by the door we originally entered in through and spoke to the security guard on the door that had greeted us as we arrived. We told him we had come through around 10 minutes ago and explained what happened and asked if in his opinion was my husband acting I intoxicated and he rattled off some pre scripted crap and said you’ve just admitted to drinking this evening and you are swaying while you are talking to me which is just absurd. I’d had the same number if drinks no one even looked at me twice. We are almost 40 yo with young children and had a rare evening out without children. We are hardly irresponsible drunk people and we’re dressed in neat smart casual clothing and gave off absolutely no drink or disorderly vibes. Honestly crown this kind of treatment of patrons is just ridiculous when I could have pointed out 50 people more intoxicated within eye shot of where we were standing and to surround us with 5 security guards and escort us out like we were trouble makers was just discriminatory. Well you just lost of on taking in some extra cash from well respecting people. Shame on you. Power tripping, bullying security guards. I’d avoid this...
Read moreI have to say the stuff are really Amazing.. However the little extras we as Platinum members had where nice until taken away..
Riverside Room.. We as a family spend a good amount of money here 3 or more times a week.. The payouts on the games inside the riverside area are different to the games outside.. You can spend 400$ in less than and hour without and games features..
The Smoking area in Riverside is okay, when it’s raining there is no coverage and the floor is slippery, not to mention the gaps my stilettos get caught and damaged..
I now take my own garnish’s for my drinks as I’m not allowed to have these luxuries anymore.. That’s disappointing.. If I want a cherry or slice of orange in my drink it’s now a extra charge..
All printed out tickets for members draws have to be now walked to the main stage in the casino, this isn’t a problem for me personally.. But as my Mum has problems walking so taking the barrel away because of the lack of staffing is a big deal for the older members within the Riverside area..
I will like to mention the lack of a dress code, or the lack of respect to it by not enforcing it..
Also the amount of people that don’t have any money or cigarettes and feel entitled to ask me for either..
I’ve been coming to this establishment for many years and it’s a safe environment for me as I know all the Riverside bar staff and most the security guards.. They are fabulous polite and respectful..
The food options are great from higher end restaurants to fast food places.. However the closing of the Snack Bar boggles my mind as this is a place many would consider during a night out..
Live music on the main casino floor over the weekends is excellent, Riverside is sometimes a hit or miss as some of the talent is very good.. But the older members with no hearing love it and enjoy the atmosphere and dance floor..
The Djs are the best in my opinion as they play a vast range of music..
I would love to give a higher rating but I just can’t.. Fix the Smoking areas it’s been 6mths since they have been closed for renovations or are they closed for ever..
You are taking everything that was nice and enjoyable away.. And the thought of the cashless card system is just ridiculous.. I like cash, where do people get the right to tell me what I can and can’t spend at the casino.. This is my Choice and it feel like my Choice is being taken away.. I’m responsible for my drinking gambling and other vices.. So stop being obsessed with how much money I spend or how long I choose to spend in the casino floor.. I don’t agree with the Suits coming over to me to talk about the responsible...
