Adult Only & Pet Friendly Prime Tourist Park — Attraction in Lakes Entrance

If you love traveling away with your fur babies like we do, then this caravan park is a MUST.

Trying to find a caravan park that allows our pets during peak times is quite stressing. At Prime Tourist Caravan Park, pets are welcomed for all seasons. Here, are some of the other reasons we love this family owned park. From the moment you call, to the day you arrive, during your stay, and then finally have to depart. You are greeted with such warmth, helpfulness, high standards, cleanliness and greeted with such personal touches. One of the outstanding personal touches I witnessed in the three times we have visited this park, is watching Daryl ( the owner) guide and direct people into their campsite. For anyone starting their camping journey, his help was such a welcome relief. The dog park facilities are so impressive, with an off leash dog run situated beside the swimming pool. This was such a huge impact on us personally, as we love to swim, and having our babies beside us so that they can see us and we can see them was such a relief, to enjoy a dip in the pool or simply for them to have some off the lead play time. They provide dog babysitting facilities, a dog wash service that we used after taking our dogs to the beach, so that our pooches were clean and fresh for our van. There is even a dedicated dog wash bedding machine especially for your use. The park is a short-walking distance into town, to take your pets for a walk to have breakfast out or simply a stroll down into town. The park itself is spotless, facilities clean and outdoor kitchen was a great way to catch up with others. This is a smaller, friendly, intimate park with very high standards. We met the lovely Pam, who joined the park this year.. what an outstanding, hard working lovely lady with a laugh that just brightens up your day!

Last, a personal message to Daryl and Sandi.. We were at your park for 21 days and the help we received from Daryl and Sandi was just extraordinary and so greatly appreciated. Daryl, your ideas to help the dogs or us at all times was so helpful. The outside dog pen wouldn’t of held up, if it wasn’t for extra poles, you went and found for us. Or the dog poop bin, for a group of 5 pooches in a bunch of campers you found for us to use.. Your musical background and sound stage is so welcoming and one of our friends even got up to sing New Year’s Eve. I personally found this time with you as one of the highlights of my stay.

You both put so much dedication and pride in your park. We ourselves and our pets love your park and thank you for allowing us to share this experience with you there once again. I’m pretty sure, I believe one of our pets say it’s truly his home, and looks forward to birthday cake next year. I know I speak on behalf of all of our group and say this park is more than 5 * Hated to leave and look forward to the next...

My husband and I and our Whippet, Hastings, have just enjoyed a week’s stay at Prime Pet Friendly Tourist Park - our second stay at this wonderful caravan park - and cannot praise or recommend it highly enough! The owners, Sandi and Darryl, are so friendly and accommodating, as are their staff. The amenities and facilities are always spotlessly clean and the park beautifully well-kept. In addition, it is perfectly placed for a short walk to shops, great cafes, the boardwalk and the beach. We particularly appreciate what Darryl and Sandi are offering with their unique park experience, that being pet-friendly, with so many carefully thought-out facilities for dogs, and child-free - with me working in education and us being parents of now-adult children, we love children dearly but value having our holiday time without their constant exuberance! It also creates a nice, friendly atmosphere having others around who enjoy holidaying with their dogs. On this stay, we had a particularly scary situation where our Whippet got away from us in a split second of inattention, then got scared and ran out of the park and across the road, heading who-knows-where in his panic; thankfully he was caught relatively quickly with no further calamity. Aside from being a very good example of why your dog should be on a leash every second when outside, this also showed the care and empathy of the owners, staff and also fellow guests. Thank you so much to Sandi, who helped retrieve our dog, to Pam who was so caring to us and our dog in our fright, and to other guests who assisted and comforted. This will definitely not be our last stay at Prime; we have already been talking about when we will camp there next! We spent the Australia Day long weekend here and honestly we were extremely impressed. Sandi and Daryl are wonderful people who are always willing to help out when needed. We were worried we weren’t going to get there before 5 but they provided us with late check in which is a bonus for those who may work late.

We brought both our 6month old Kelpies who absolutely loved the off leash dog run they could spend hours in there if we let them. Majority of the other guests also had dogs, this helped us train them as well in the respect that not all dogs want to play and provided us the opportunity to teach them to stay calm when other dogs walk past our site etc.

It was also a very quiet area where there’s no kids running around at night. We are able to relax and enjoy our time without any extra noise.

They also host little events like open mic which we got to experience the last couple of hours of due to be out all day but it was an enjoyable atmosphere even if we stayed at our site. We could still enjoy the music and vibes from where we were.

The facilities are amazing, they provide a kettle, mini fridge, toaster, Webber, books and a sink all within the camp kitchen which is a bonus for those short stays, especially if you do not necessarily want to set everything up like ourselves.

Toilets were always cleaned, the showers are good just like most caravan parks where if everyone is using hot water it becomes a bit cold but other than that it was fabulous.

We most certainly be back again hopefully for longer....
