Avoid Aaron – Overpriced, Poor Quality, and Untrustworthy Service

I’ve worked with Aaron on multiple projects over the past six years, spending over a million dollars on furniture and design services. Unfortunately, after a series of disappointing experiences, I would never recommend him again. Here’s why:

Project 1 – Furniture Order: I spent more than a million dollars ordering furniture through Aaron, expecting high quality for the price. However, the quality was subpar. Last year, two chairs broke and I had to pay a significant amount to get them fixed. More recently, one of the chair fabrics started to pill, and when I asked Aaron to reupholster it, he quoted me $2,574. I pointed out that I could buy a new chair for that price, and he then demanded an additional $270 to pick up the chair if I didn’t proceed with the reupholstering. Extremely frustrating and disappointing given the amount I had already spent.

Project 2 – Garage Design: I paid Aaron to design our garage, and when our builder needed to double-check measurements, Aaron charged him an hourly rate just to answer basic questions. My builder only needed confirmation on some measurements because Aaron hadn’t done his work properly in the first place. This left us trying to finish the project ourselves, wasting both time and money.

Project 3 – Mt Buller Apartment: I hired Aaron to design our Mt Buller apartment and was charged an extra $1,620 for a trip to Mt Buller just to take measurements. When we changed plans and bought another apartment, I asked him to source furniture instead. Despite disagreeing with the need for the road trip, I paid for it anyway. I ended up doing the measurements myself. When the project was completed, I was extremely disappointed with the furniture and design, as it didn’t suit the space at all. Aaron had promised a refund if I wasn’t happy with the design, but he refused, claiming he’d spent time sourcing the furniture. I was forced into ordering furniture I didn’t want or need.

Overall Thoughts: Aaron consistently claims that his prices are cheaper than retail – this simply isn’t true. I’ve found that you can get better prices shopping directly from retailers, and at least you have the freedom to decide whether to purchase or not. With Aaron, if you don’t like what he offers, you’ll either have to accept it or pay for his time. It's a poor way to run a business, and I felt manipulated throughout the entire process.

In conclusion, I regret ever working with Aaron and would strongly advise others to look elsewhere for furniture and design services. His quality is subpar, and his business practices are far from transparent. Save yourself the headache and money – avoid Aaron...
