Unique views and a nice stroll around the top with a camera. Very windy - if you wear a hat, it will need to be attached. Proper walking shoes required.
Shop at the bottom should be able to provide information.
If you have any health or mobility issues, take the chairlift to see the view from the top, but seek advice beforehand as to whether you will be able to complete the circuit of the top. It is not flat.
Walk clockwise / start with the left path to walk down steps instead of up them. There are quite a few.
That is, unless you don't want to do the whole circuit, in which case, the shorter walk to the viewing platform of the town is to the right. (Ocean views to the left)
Carry your lunch/snacks & water - there are picnic tables in a shaded area under the old pine trees close-ish to the end of the walk, which is a great place to...
Read moreSearch for "the nut access track" to get to the starting point. You can take the chairlift up (I think it's about $17 return or $11 one way for adults) or take the zigzag route up, which is about 15 minutes walk. The walk is pretty steep though 😆
Once you've reached the top, there's a 2km circuit walk which would take about 30 - 45 minutes to complete (depending on how fast you walk). The walk is really nice and they even have small little signs to keep children entertained throughout the walk. There're a lot of informative signs along the way too, which is awesome.
Awesome experience but do come on a good day, I came on a super windy day (48km/h), and it was still good but can imagine it'll be much better if the...
Read moreThe walking track up and down is very steep but doable. If daunted by the gradient there is the option of a chairlift. Regardless once at the top the walking tracks are well formed and an easy walk for all levels of fitness. Allow about an hour to walk the full loop and take in all the breathtaking 360 degree views. Be warned though the weather can change very quickly and can be very cold and windy on top. Be prepared. The climb up and down is just over 400 metres (elevation about 140m) and circular track roughly 1 kilometre. For the health nuts and joggers my wife recommends a brisk walk up the hill, two laps jogging around the top and steady descent for a...
