風月堂 Savoy Cake Chatswood — Attraction in Sydney

I give low score because of the bad service. It is absolutely not a happy experience try to book a birthday cake there. I went there two times just for booking a cake. The first time, yesterday, the working staff was making a personal call when I came to the store. I waited a few minutes, and she signed to me what I want while she was talking in the phone. I pointed to the mocha cheese cake. And she just went to the fridge try to get a cake for me. Because I want to book a cake on the birthday instead of getting the cake right now and she was still talking in the phone at that time,so I just pat her in the shoulders to get her attention to stop her getting a cake. Then she turned back to me and asked me “sush”. Can you believe it? She asked me to shush while she is making personal call in the store instead of doing a service. I feel unhappy so I just left the store. The next day when I pass the store, I just try to book the cake again, and the working staff, the same girl, is browsing her mobile phone. When I talk her,she looks impatient. I feel like I shouldn’t disturb her watching her Mobile phone…….of course, I didn’t book a cake eventually because I don’t the...

Edit on March 2021: it is now not a cash only store and they accept credit card with surcharge. I’m happy to pay for the surcharge and have since bought 2 bday cakes. I have changed the rating to 5 stars.

Past review: They make the best Asian style cake in Sydney. Why the 3 stars and not 5 stars? Because the store only accepts cash even though they have visa logo sticker at their door. Who in a pandemic only accepts cash only? It is so unhygienic, imagine the staff touching cash and then touching the cake and packing box when packing your cake. Everyone is moving towards cashless. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. We got the cheese sticks today and the expiry is 14 June 2022 (it is April now), however as soon as we opened the packet the smell of rancid oil was so strong I hesitated putting it in my mouth. I did anyway - and spat it out straight away because it tasted like it would give me cancer. I didn’t notice the bottom of the packet before but the soaked silica gel packets and the oil gathered at the bottom of the bag suggests that this has probably been out for at least a couple of months.
