Mandarin Centre — Local services in Sydney

This place is so rundown and desperately needs a make over. The food court feels like it’s just the same stores over and over no variety.

The only two saving graces for this centre is TK Maxx which is awesome and the cinema.

The facilities are old and the amenities are always filthy. Plus, the male toilets on the first level have been “out of order” for over a year. Although, personally I can only attest to 6 months as I was here about 6 months ago and they were closed and the same sign is still up now and someone had written on the sign. It doesn’t look like they are ever going to be “fixed” see photo. This is very odd and lazy to be honest. Surely one toilet for the whole centre is not on.

Two stars for the cinema and TK Maxx.

There is a food level with Indonesian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean food on Offer, good to pop into before going to the Hoyts Cinema upstairs. Down stairs at ground level there is an Asian food market seperated into snacks on one side and all other Chinese food and utensils on the other. DAISO variety shop with great offerings including japanese bowls, chopsticks, storage baskets, gardening items, cosmetic containers, slippers, socks men, women and children, some drinks and snacks, carry bags its a wonderland of many items priced at $3.30 each plus other reasonably priced items, hop in and explore the stationary products and stickers are for kids and craft projects. Tote bags with Japenese themes are back. There is an Asian toy store with large Kitty plushes aming others and cute kids toys and clothing. A small jewellery store and cafe...

Mandarin Shopping Centre at Chatswood is a busy place with several retail shops, an Asian supermarket on the ground level. For entertainment Strike Chatswood a game's arcade offers strike bowling, strike laser skirmish and video games. Hoyts cinema and Pearl Club are located there. There is a food court with a variety of food stalls like Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, Indian, SE Asian Chinese and coffee tea juices. Fortune Place Restaurant serves " yum cha" dumplings steamed and served in small bamboo tray containers. Tasty sweet and savoury dumplings cost $ 5.90 per tray, payment by cash only. Book in advance to avoid waiting for a long time in the queue. Parking is free for 3 hours with validation at machines located at level 1 outside lifts, level 2 opposite May's Malaysian stall, at Hoyts cinema, Strike and Pearl. Free Wi-Fi...
