One of the best pho dishes I have tasted in Chatswood with polite and friendly service.
It's a little gem hidden away on the ground floor food court in an old (Lemon Grove) shopping centre. Despite being in the food court, the restaurant has its own dining room and seating, so there is no need to stress while looking for a place to enjoy the food.
It was my first time here and I noticed that they have the option of OxTail on the pho menu. I enquired about the size as I was worried it would be like many other places that do a few small pieces of oxtail with a large bowl of noodles. The waitress double checked with tge chef in the kitchen and came back out to confirm it was 250g of OxTail. I was immediately impressed! No arguments over how many pieces or the size as it is measured by weight.
After a short wait, my Oxtail Pho arrived and it looked like an impressive serving. I can smell the strong aroma of the beef in the broth and gentile fragrance of the the fresh herbs on the side. Just one bite and I was taken to another world. The meat on the OxTail easily fell off the bone and didn't need any effort at all. The broth was full of flavour and the noodles were cooked to perfection.
I highly recommend giving this place a try and I can't wait to...
Read moreI have been to many Pho places which have better services, tasting and price.
There are 40 seats with 5 staffs, but they are unable to take order at your table. Cutlery and sauces are all self-service. This makes the place no better than a food court. However, pricing at a food court is more affordable based on the taste and amount of meat provided.
If you had gone to any other pho place and order tripe, tendon and beef. It wouldn't cost any more than their large serving. Here, it would cost $17.8 + 6.3 + 6.3 - which is more than their combination.
Also - $9.3 for fresh coconut? Food court is a lot cheaper, but this place is a food court style set up.
Where is the traditional roll? Gói cuon? All the entrees would have explained that this is not traditional Pho.
Finally , how can you not have fresh chillies on the table and so tight with it when it is requested? And two little stems of basil?
The fancy teapot soup doesn't make it taste better, but if you fancy this and overpay. Then it would be the place.
But for me, it will be Cảm ơn,...
Read moreVery average taste, feels likes there is a taste missing. The beef soup that I got, cooked beef (brisket) has a very strong beef taste to it. The beef meat balls… yuck…. Super strong meat taste to it. If you are a person who can’t stand the meat taste to beef, do not recommend cooked brisket and the meat balls. I had to add extra chill sauce to cover the taste. Also, the coconut water, I didn’t want ice, and I just got half a cup. I’m mean, yes no ice there will be less liquid but half a cup? For $7.90? Sorry, I can’t accept this….. I also required no onion in my soup… the cashier double checked and asked me to check as well. And when it was served… there was onion….. Won’t be a place I...
