Stayed here twice. A cost-effective hyatt (this regency is C4) that outcompetes its adjacent rivals in its location and performance - first impression aesthetically, it is essentially as Hyatt as the spacious, confidence yet unpretentious and not overtly extravagant decor of the lobby, with an emphasis on balancing the warmth of sandstone and timber fittings. Walkable to all major attractions, shopping centres and public transports if you’re here for vacation (park Hyatt would be much better if seeking a proper vacation accommodation, the only C8 in Australia). C/I is attentive, friendly and efficient. (If correct this Hyatt has two Les Clefs d'Or concierge staff), large enough setback space for drop off/pickups unlike the Brisbane regency. Though guest service could be a bit impatient, however room delivery is expedient. Regency club here is not busy, good service, nice harbour-facing views and as you expected, serves continental breakfast and conventional beverages. Standard guest room: Simple, clean, functional. Parts of the room has been updated, switches and controls are considered and responsive, though some usb ports maybe defective. Window is clean with good acoustic insulation even facing harbour side. Two layers electric curtain with individual controls (probably not silent gliss?) Over-use of marble (especially the table) and perhaps naval elements in the room to complement darling harbour, which may diverts the conventional Hyatt-aesthetic (earth tone, warmth, minimal, quiet). Mini-bar and closet are compact yet well-organised and packed with all essentials (and clearly listed), no espresso machine. Bathroom is small, very functional like Hilton, no shower curtain or glass door which is similar to most apartments bathroom in Sydney. Lighting is not too bad, better user-controls than Sheraton, bedding is made better than one of the Sofitel’s (thumbs up for housekeeping team). Electronics: The Bittlephone handset (used in most Hyatt hotels), is not stable as always. No Bluetooth speaker (even Hyatt centric had one), cute quartz clock with simple alarm function. TV has a pivotal rack, but chromecast is broken… Gym has nice views and adequately spaced equipments (a combination of technogym and life-fitness gears, clean and new), good ambience and flooring finishes, however only has one bathroom with integrated shower/changing room, which is rather confusing. Zephyr bar is a highlight of this hotel, semi-open air lounge space, high-floor unobstructed views of darling harbour make this a good spot for Saturday fireworks. Restaurants are average, sailmaker is good with close-distance view of darling harbour, which complements breakfast despite rather ordinary selection of foods.

This was our first visit to Australia, and we just finished a delightful 4-night stay at the Hyatt Regency Sydney. Upon concluding our South Pacific cruise, we arrived at the hotel around 9:00 AM to find our room wasn't ready yet. However, Qiana at the front desk kindly granted us access to the Regency Club on the 11th floor for breakfast and as a waiting area. By 3:00 PM, Joanne from the Regency Club informed us that our room, a complimentary upgrade to a Harbor View Balcony Suite on the 14th floor (Room #1402), was ready. The suite was spacious at 50 square meters, featuring a luxurious soaking tub. I was particularly impressed by the prompt delivery of our luggage and the roll-away bed requested for my son, ensuring his comfort. The room boasted a stunning view of Darling Harbour, was impeccably clean, serene, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We utilized a Guest of Honor award for our booking, which included complimentary daily breakfast and access to the Club (offering hors d'oeuvres and alcoholic drinks from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM). Breakfast at the Regency Club Lounge on the 11th floor was exceptional, highlighted by an omelette station where Chef Roman personally delivered our orders—a unique touch in all our stays at various Hyatt Regencies. Location-wise, the property is ideally situated: just 5 minutes from Darling Harbour, 10 minutes from the Queen Victoria Building, and approximately 15 minutes from Chinatown—an excellent base for exploring Sydney. Overall Experience: Our stay was truly exceptional, thanks to the extraordinary efforts of the Regency Club staff—Joanne, Forhad, Laura, and Kenta—who not only met but exceeded our expectations. They went above and beyond to ensure every moment of our stay in Sydney was memorable. 5/5 Stars!

Was excited to spend some time with my husband. However, this hotel was very disappointing. Rated 5 star, it definitely was not. We had a harbour view room which had a stench smell in it, so we opted to upgrade to balcony room. This room had a better smell, abit larger however a very basic room. The bar fridge was disappointing, minimal drinks even water was not for free. And had 1 kit kat on offer, no chips or any other snacks, again for 5 star this was disappointing. The room is definitely outdated. Basic bedding, basic TV, basic table and chairs. Bathroom was basic and didn't offer much, had to ask for dental kits as they had none in the room, this was the 1st in all hotels we had stayed at, they always had all this on offer. Walls of the room were dirty, picture provided. Carpet needs to be changed old and dirty. Received cheap wine for our anniversary, which in most other hotels we get a card, plates of fruit or cake. This was just a wine handed to us, super basic. Can hear other people in rooms around you and we were close to elevators so can hear traffic of people. We had late checkout at 12pm, but we were that disappointed we opted to leave just after 10am. Location is close to darling harbour. Not much shops around. Parking is across the road from the hotel. Staff were lovely, food at jackalberry was great however the cocktails were horrible. Breakfast was nice and decent. Would we stay here again that would be a NO and would not recommend this place to others, with so many other beautiful hotels around we would definitely stay in those hotels for sure.

Service is great and staff is very friendly. The lounge view is wonderful with splendid choices of drinks and really comfortable! The sea view rooms have a great vibe, perfect for couples. Rooms are very clean and well stocked with complementary tea and coffee options.

We stayed here two weeks ago and staff are super friendly and helpful. From checking in to checking out. Has a good ambience and place is clean and spacious. Even lucky to watch fireworks at night in Darling Harbour from our bedroom balcony. Breakfast every morning was also something to look forward to. Cannot complain. Will definitely come back.

Offering great views over darling harbour, amazing breakfast spread, Zephyr bar itself warrants 5*. However, the somewhat outdated rooms make the high price tag a bit harder to justify.
