Visited Aquaventure on Nov. 11th 2022
While I have a nice memory of the visit it was underwhelming for what you pay for. Obviously the tropical landscape makes the visit memorable but it's not be all and end all. We were visiting the island and not staying at Atlantis or one of the other hotels, if you are in same position beware of costs.
Expensive day passes although our child of 3 was able to get in for free +add fees of valet parking, locker (which isn't free) and a meal at resort and you're at $500 - and this is just a day pass. In Europe or US you could get day passes for a week at similar place.
Aquariums in the main hotel were nice
No access to strollers / wheelchairs We had to carry stroller up and down the stairs and winding balconies all around resort...
"Chocotini" - little chocolate dessert shop only serves chocolate and alcohol based treats after waiting in line for more than 20 minutes we were told that we can't pay with cards because the systems were down and unless you're a hotel guest you also can't pay with cash They serve no ice cream anywhere - so that was disappointing. They could have put up a sign!
Considering it was a week of storm Nicole, weather was unseasonably colder than usual, the outdoor pools have no heating other than sun apparently so the water was chilly...
Splashers - The one main children's attraction at the water park was closed, with what I was told is main tourist season starting with Nov. 1st, so all we could do is splash in the shallow pool, apparently it opened on Nov 18th.?
The Rapids River - I put my child in my lap in the inner tube to try at least go on the ride but was stopped by guard who made us disembark; there are double size tubes but they mad a fuss about it so we didn't even try it
Serpent slide - while very nice, the waiting time for a ride was over an hour during the day and so between 4-5pm they seemed to started rushing people to clear the queue, I wish they had done that earlier in the day as well
The Coral at Atlantis - all the children's attractions were closed, we couldn't enter the playroom, a staffer informed us we must leave and the children's lazy river in the back was apparently closed as well...
Paradise Lagoon - in the end this was probably the nicest experience because the beach is calm and sea water was warmer than the pools and there's small fish and crabs that can be observed. But you could probably get this at most of island's...
Read moreMy family of 5 visited Aquaventure as day visitors from the Disney Dream. There does not appear to be any capacity limits-- lines are incredibly long, and there are not enough chairs available. Staff, aside from the drink waiters, are unfriendly. We would've made the best of it and not returned and probably not bothered even writing this review had that been the gist of our experience.......... However, being robbed gave us insight worth sharing. Our backpack was left unattended while we went on one slide-- there were no chaises available so we asked a staff member if it would be OK for us to leave our bag (with disposable cameras, flip flops, coverups and sunscreen inside it), nearby her chair. She said yes. When we returned to retrieve our bag- the employee and our bag was gone. After much hassle, we were directed to a small "Security" shed with one woman staffer present. She took the report and sat back down at her desk. My husband had gone to get our actual valuables out of the locker so I waited by security. As I waited, a couple approached in tears to report their missing child. The security lady took their report with the exact same nonchalance that she had treated mine. It was absolutely appalling to watch a mother tearfully describe her son's bathing suit while this "security" person looked off lackadaisically like there were a million other things requiring her attention. Needless to say, we didn't get our bag back... but Atlantis did try to charge us $50 for the locker key that was in our stolen bag. HA. They watched us board our van back to the ship in wet bathing suits, barefoot and didn't bat an eye. We spent $919 on tickets and were treated like garbage, but the lack of humanity shown to the people missing their child at a sprawling water park bordered by the ocean was perhaps the single worst example of customer service I have ever witnessed in my life. Buyer beware, they will take your money with a scowl and not give one iota about your safety...
Read moreDid aquaventure through a carnival cruise ship. $200 per person which is pricy but still worth it plus Nassau in general is a dump so might as well do this excursion. I’m not positive how it would be outside of carnival excursion. The water park is pretty cool. The slides aren’t really any better than your “standard” water park. The scenery is much better though. There are two pretty good aquariums to see around the water park. One with multiple fish and a huge manta Ray. Like 15+ feet wingspan huge. One aquarium with nothing but sharks which was neat. You can snorkel in one aquarium called the ruins which is where the manta Ray is. ~$142 per person to snorkel though. I saw a group snorkeling. Was a very short snorkel for the money.
Pools everywhere.
Plenty of restrooms and towels.
A man made lagoon which I thought was kind of lame. Shallow. Seems like a great addition for kids. You can rent kayaks and water bikes but there isn’t much room to paddle.
You can walk out to the beach the water is clear but not protected by a reef so there are waves. People will jump on you like vultures once you are on beach because I guess that isn’t technically Atlantis property. They will try to sell you items or jet ski rentals, parasailing, things like that.
Excursion included food I was pleasantly surprised with the food. Figured it would be a ham sandwich or cheap hot dog. Nope. I had a delicious grilled chicken sandwich with fries and a drink. Burgers were a option and not cheap thin patties either. One stand had fried chicken or fish but it was far away from water park.
With excursion you got to walk around Atlantis. Plenty to see. Kind of like walking around a mall to me.
The only reason I give four stars is the staff. Not many people knew where anything was and they weren’t happy to help.
Atlantis was nice to visit for the day but I couldn’t see staying...
