The Dig at Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island is an absolute must-see if you're in Nassau, Bahamas. It's this incredible mix of an aquarium and an archaeological adventure, all rolled into one. If you're staying at the Atlantis Resort, you've got it made because access to The Dig is included with your stay, which is a fantastic perk.
Now, if you're not staying at the resort, don't worry, you can still check it out. It'll cost you though – last I heard, it was about $45 for adults and $30 for kids. Prices can change, so it’s a good idea to double-check on the Atlantis website or give them a call before you go.
The Dig is usually open from around 10 AM to 5 PM, but these hours can shift a bit depending on the time of year. Make sure to look this up too so you don’t miss out.
Walking into The Dig is like stepping back in time and plunging underwater all at once. The attention to detail in the design is insane – you really feel like you're exploring an underwater city. The aquariums are a highlight, packed with all sorts of sea creatures – from tiny, colorful fish to big, majestic sharks and rays. It's a total treat for the eyes and there's loads to learn too, with all the info plaques and interactive stuff they've got set up.
What's really cool about The Dig is that it's as much fun for adults as it is for kids. Families will love it because there's something for everyone – it's like a little educational adventure.
So, whether you're bunking at the Atlantis or just dropping by for the day, The Dig is a top-notch attraction. It's a blend of history, ocean life, and a bit of mythical flair – not something you see every day. Just remember to check out the latest details on admission fees and opening hours before you head over. Trust me, it's an experience you won't want to miss out on when you're in...

Visiting The Dig at Atlantis was an unforgettable experience absolutely magical! The entire exhibit is incredibly well-designed, making you feel like you've stepped into a lost underwater civilization. The aquariums are massive and filled with a stunning variety of sea life from glowing jellyfish and moray eels to massive groupers and graceful rays.
The ambiance is immersive and mysterious, with dim lighting, ancient-looking ruins, and glass tunnels that give you jaw-dropping views of the marine life. It’s not just for kids, adults will be equally amazed by the detail and wonder around every corner.
Staff were friendly and informative, adding to the experience without interrupting the atmosphere. It's easily one of the highlights of the Atlantis Resort and something you can’t miss if you're visiting Nassau.
10/10—absolutely worth it! A perfect mix of entertainment, education, and awe. I'd go back in...
Read moreOver $300 for 2 non-hotel guests that had to buy day-passes is insane. While the day-pass gives access to other areas of Atlantis, it's not worth it. The aquarium ("The Dig") was great to see for the first time, but most definitely not worth the price. Takes only 20-30 minutes to walk through and that includes standing to observe the fish. The aquarium itself needs major updating and cleaning, water was not clear like you'd expect and there were several dead fish at the bottom. You can tell it's not longer a main focus for the hotel and more of a revenue generator. They even hide the parts of the aquarium you should see from the lobby of the hotel behind those ugly black curtain barriers - making you pay to see something that was clearly built into the beauty of the building itself. Beautiful to see once, but it's unfortunate to say that I will definitely not pay for that again. Management should be...
