It's hard to explain the experience here, but I will try. It's a gorgeous beach that has public access, but it's directly in front of a resort. In fact, it seems like the entirety of the ocean side of this island is locked in behind resorts. This is the most beautiful beach I've ever seen, but it's being destroyed by the outrageous capitalism that literally is squeezing the life out of this area. The tourists from the resorts and cruises that frequent the area seem to just pile onto this beach, get drunk, LEAVE THEIR TRASH ALL OVER THE BEACH WHICH THEN GOES DIRECTLY INTO THE OCEAN WHEN HIGH TIDE HAPPENS. Aparrently the Bahamian government can't be bothered to clean up the beaches or offer more than ONE EXTREMELY OVERFLOWING TRASH RECEPTACLE FOR THE ENTIRE BEACH. I'm pretty sure you'd have to be completely daft or living under a rock to not know the oceans are full of trash and plastic and that as a human being with any sort of awareness of others or nature, would need to put your trash in a bin. It's as if these people were raised by wolves. But honestly, I wouldn't even give them that much credit. They are gross, hedonistic, and selfish and unfortunately it's commonplace in this area for them to just behave however they want, sans consequences, and destroy this beautiful island. It was so sad and so disheartening to be here, and while the ocean and beach and locals were enjoyable, the tourists and the extreme capitalism on display on this part of the island are a literal hellscape. GROSS. The ick factor being...

We were followed from the car all the way to the beach. Even after starting, we wasn't interested. However, we did purchase a beach lounge chair later. The beach was a bit crow d when we got there but soon cleared out. There was a lot of trash on the beach due to people not cleaning...
Read moreBeautiful beach with plenty of lounge chairs for guests. The water crystal turquoise clear and warm. Loved every minute. However, we witnessed a guy smoking a cigar in the water. According to a lifeguard, it is allowed. Swimming in cigar ashes is not our idea of fun, especially not okay for the sea creatures. That was disappointing to see and sad that...
