We had a large group of us go from our cruise. 12 or so of us to total got a day pass which was extremely expensive. The tickets were over $500 for 3 people. This was for the 2 slides, the rapids lazy river, a few pools and beach. We were extremely excited to go, I have always wanted to go.
Our experience started when we were dropped off several blocks away by a taxi van from the port, far enough we couldn't see the hotel. It was a bit of a long walk and it was pretty hot out. I would advise using Atlantis shuttle bc they won't let taxis pull up to the front, not sure why. Not very accommodating for guests. I think we would have used the Atlantis shuttle, but I never saw one at the port nor was it offered when we bought tickets on the Atlantis website. You would think it was included for the hefty price.
When we finally get to the property, it was beautiful!! We stopped in the shops. You pass through them before the casino. The aquarium is beautiful and very long. It was confusing and eventually frustrating trying to get through it to the water park and every staff member we asked for help told us to go a different way. No signs. Once we got to the hotel portion, pretty much ALL of the staff we Interacted with the entire day, were unaccommodating and seemed upset we were even there. It was strange. They seemed unhappy, annoyed we were there and they couldn't be bothered unless there was a tip involved. We are good tippers, former service industry and very kind to everyone working even trying to make them smile.
Drinks were outrageously, ridiculously expensive and we stay at high end resorts often.
Tip- We learned to be sure to wear shoes through the park. Our fet were burned in the concrete. We went down the lazy /rapid river a few times, which we enjoyed, initially. The second time around there was a LARGE water mocassan snake in the lazy river that went into the filtration system right at the area where you ride your intertube up the coveyer belt. A few of the staff were trying to do something because people were scared, and they were too. Understandably. I do get we are on an island and these things can happen... But being it was a deadly, poisonous snake, that was very scary for everyone.
Beware- I saw people flip over in the rapids and get hurt. The lifeguards did anything but watch, if they were there. (Sometimes someone was there to assist, and then the next time around there wasn't anyone.) I was one of those people to get hurt. I left bleeding, scrapped up, and with a pulled shoulder and neck. It makes sense why they make you sign a waiver. I asked for bandaids and was pointed in a direction.
Parts of the resort were closed, which is ok, but then why charge full price? Lockers weren't available and the ones that were, were $20 for the day/a few hours. Terrible.
We spent over $1500 for a few short hours at the resort between tickets, shopping, drinks and food.
Unfortunately we have decided from this one day experience, the amount of hard earned money charged and spent, the lack of a positive experience, and the way the staff was toward us, we would NOT want to return to stay there. This conclusion is very disappointing. I truly wanted to love this property and everything about it with thoughts we would return very soon.
Feedback- Seems like upper management has a LOT of work to do in either better hiring or treatment of staff. Make things more accommodating for guests, like getting them there from the ports. It makes for a poor start to the experience. Easy rule: Happy employees = happy guests. The poor attitudes on the entire property and lack of care for guests overall in the service industry is not a good look. It makes me wonder why they are so unhappy. I do hope things get better for them. There's a lot of opportunity to...
Read moreI rarely ever write reviews, but after my most recent stay at Atlantis, I felt I had to share how truly disappointing and frustrating the experience was.
Let’s start with the casino staff, who were some of the most unprofessional I’ve ever dealt with. • Renee completely ignored me at a crowded table, assumed I wasn’t playing, got smart when I corrected her, and even paid me incorrectly. When I pointed out the mistake, she acted annoyed and dismissive while fixing it. • Jason clearly cannot count. He paid me out wrong twice, and when I asked him to correct it, he argued with me both times—until another staff member (a pregnant woman helping with chips) confirmed that I was right. • Shirley flat-out refused to take my casino sign-in card because I brought my own chips from earlier play. Only after I explained that I’ve always been scanned in at that same table did she finally do it—but only after arguing with me in front of everyone. • Vanessa also refused to scan my card, claiming I didn’t have enough money, which was completely false. Even if my bets were smaller, I was still playing and my time should have been counted like anyone else’s. • Michelle was extremely rude when I asked for the same dice after they went off the table. She snapped back that she “didn’t hear me” even though she was standing right next to me. Then she moved positions, and when I rolled a 7 out, she clapped and said “finally”—completely unprofessional.
The only bright spots were Yvette, who was understanding and pleasant to deal with, and Renaldo, who was always fair, kind, and accurate with payouts.
Unfortunately, the issues didn’t stop there. Housekeeping was horrible. I stayed 8 nights, and 6 of those nights I had to repeatedly call for housekeeping to tidy the room. Even after confirming someone would come, they often didn’t—and on several occasions, they only showed up very late at night.
To make things worse, two of the main water slides at the park were closed for our entire stay, even though staff said they would reopen. They never did.
Overall, this was not the level of service or experience you expect from a resort that advertises itself as “world-class.” Between the rude casino employees, poor housekeeping, and closed attractions, I left feeling frustrated and disappointed.
I will not be returning to Atlantis and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing or...
Read moreVery nice hotel - went beginning of May, the weather was very hot, there’s many restaurants to chose from: the breakfast we did the buffet every morning, just easier, but dinners at all the different restaurants were bomb - Nobu and the Italian definitely top choices. Dinners can be expensive, lunch was relatively affordable, but there are many options for both. You can walk the underground aquarium under Atlantis all the way to the beach from the hotel. There’s plenty of bars, live entertainment and a casino for adults. Lots of shops, lots to see, the kids loved it, we definitely enjoyed our stay and recommend to anyone that visits the Bahamas. Very beautiful hotel. Lots of walking. There’s a gym too. The pool area for kids has an entire playground which was awesome the kids really loved it. The beach didn’t have umbrellas, the beach chairs have canopy’s but not all the beach chairs have canopy’s so if you need shade best get there early and get the chairs with the canopy. The hotel was super clean and really had everything for the entire family to enjoy, they also had giants sized games for kids and adults by the pool. Not to mention the giant...
