Brooklyn Bridge Park - Pier 1 — Attraction in New York

There are many great spots to take photos of the New York City skyline, and one of my favorites is Old Pier 1 in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

If you cross the bridge and don’t take some time to explore the Brooklyn side, you are missing! The area is so gorgeous, and charming, with spectacular views of Manhattan – and the bridge. It is a site to behold.

One of the classic spots of this area, Pier 1 offers panoramic views of lower Manhattan, besides space for relaxing, playgrounds, and public arts. Whether you’re taking a leisurely stroll, sinking into a good book, or looking out at the harbor, this outstanding open space provides scenery to spare.

Fulton Ferry Landing and the Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park are incredible and provide inspiring views of Manhattan and the bridges; Pier 1 takes those views several steps further. When standing on Pier 1, you can’t help but feel closer to Manhattan, with crystal clear views of the Statue of Liberty and vistas that allow you to gaze at Manhattan and Brooklyn in a new light.

Absolutely love this area. Spectacular views across the East River of Downtown Manhattan including Brooklyn Bridge and the Freedom Tower. The area is also well kept and clean. There are a lot fo eating options in the area...especially if you are willing to walk away from the water for a few blocks. The only and biggest ge is parking. If you choose to drive there...parking is very tough and can be frsutrating. There are limited and expensive parking lots in the area. Your best bet is to look for a spot closer to the Borough Hall area, which has some meters (up to 2 hours) and alternate side street restrictions, and walk toward the water. This place now has kayaking. How dope is that!?.... It's awesome. Sundays are family days with the kids. Sign up online to keep it simple but you can sign up in person. Being on those Hudson waters is a once in a lifetime experience that you have to give a shot. You've got a front row seat to the city views and you can see the statue of liberty. The park also has rollerblading area, handball courts, grass turf for some exercising or soccer, basketball courts, walking, bike riding, and there's water sprinklers for the kids.
