Cute locally made products, horrible customer service!

I was looking for some specific items for my daughter’s birthday while in Banff. I was referred here to find the items I wanted. We came to Canmore and specifically looked up this store. They had a sign on their doors still requesting masks. While at the door we asked the sales lady if masks were required as my husband forgot his in the car. They said yes in a very snappy tone. I ignored her tone and started looking in my purse for my mask. My husband didn’t have his so he told me he would wait outside. No big deal. Lots of stores still want masks and we completely understand and carry them for this reason. Then, while still standing in the doorway, and still looking for my mask, the lady snapped at me again demanding I put it on now. I told her I know. I was clearly looking in my purse for it. She gave me a very nasty look. I chopped it off to the fact that she was likely was getting backlash from some people over the mask thing and decided not to take it personally. Found my mask, put it on, went about my business. Found what I was looking for. Yay! I was so happy I forgot about the whole mask thing.

A few minutes later a couple other ladies walked in. They also politely inquired about the stores mask preference and were also very rudely informed that they need masks. They said they didn’t have any and asked if the store had any disposable ones they could use. The store lady snapped at these poor ladies. I don’t recall exactly word for word everything she said, but it was the way she said it that was so awful. It was along the lines of “No, if you want a mask you can buy one like the sign says” There was a small table with masks in a bowl and a small sign with their price (about $5). These ladies have each other a look, turned around, and left. At this point I decided it was a bit much to treat every customer this way. I couldn’t support this store lady. I put my much wanted item back and left also. Very disappointed.

My husband was outside of the store after the other ladies left. He did not hear what happened inside the store. When I came out he asked me what had happened because the ladies came out complaining about how rude the sales lady was.

After 2 days wandering stores in the area we have seen many that are still requiring masks. Every single one of those stores was polite about it. We happily obliged to every stores request. I do understand that some people may be difficult about the mask thing still, but we were not and neither was the other group of ladies. Tone and facial expressions say more than words. I’d recommend working on these...

One of the most difficult companies I have had to work with. Unfortunately we had to use a gift card here and didn't have any other option. We purchased one of the world maps but it wasn't in stock. So the manager told us that they should be getting some "soon" when asking what soon was it was about 2 weeks. 2 weeks goes by and I have to call to follow up. And they stated it will be another 2 weeks. I call in 2 weeks and it's another 2 weeks and this repeats. So in total I had to wait 2 months for my product. I had to drive 4 hours to pick up my product.

I had to follow up each time. With reminders in my phone. I'm sure if I wasn't on them they would of just took my money and "forget" about me.

If you want a product I suggest going directly to the supplier because customer service...

I visited this store in Canmore with no knowledge of what was inside, after going through lots of souvenir shops looking for something unique and special, this was the place to find it! I purchased a beautiful handmade pennant, and it is by far one of the best souvenirs you can pick up in the area! They’re fantastic display pieces and being locally handmade makes it even more special. The customer service inside the store is also by far the best I’ve experienced anywhere. Everyone was extremely kind and very helpful, even helped me pick a colour for my pennant as I couldn’t decide! Always great to support a local independent business.
