SUPER RUDE OWNER. No respect and courtesy to customers at all. I'm shaking and crying as I type this. We are at Clip n Climb right now for an advanced birthday celebration for our boy--we wanted to check the place out to see if it's a good spot to invite our friends. And boy am I glad I did. I didn't want to be humiliated in front of others. I POLITELY asked for help because my son (who struggles with his grip--this is the reason why we want him to PRACTICE AND BUILD HIS CONFIDENCE here) needed help with attaching his harness. Instead of telling us "sure no problem, let me help you," he came in with a very insulting tone, like he thinks we're dumb. "You've been doing this for 30mins and you still don't know?" Blah blah blah "Don't do it for him next time." With matching disappointed face. So so rude!!!
I am very supportive of local businesses in the city--we explore a lot and promote it on our pages. But this time, I just feel so bad. I was so excited to bring my boys here. Planned for this day so well and then we got a really cold, impolite treatment from the owner himself. Somebody let him read this. I hope he learns how to treat all kinds of people well. My son is super smart (he is even in an accelerated program) but he is struggling with his grip so we want him to practice more. Mike doesn't know this but he treated us like that..."why doesn't he know how to do it yet?!" he says. Well, we were just asking for help. We know how, but it's not that easy for us because it's our first time OKAY?! We've only been here for less than 30mins.
Thanks to the 3 kind young staff though. I feel bad for you guys. Your boss does not lead by example. Even saw how he responds to others sharing their bad experiences through Google review and noticed that "sorry" isn't in his vocabulary.
I'm near him right now looking pissed and he doesn't even attempt to apologize. Wow.
Update:
I thanked all young staff and the receptionist before going out (owner was just near us but he still didn't say a word--like I expect the bare minimum from staff members. A usual "thank you for coming" is enough but from the owner himself, utmost customer service is expected. He didn't even give the bare minimum like "hi guys, how are you doing? Need some help? Hope you're having fun." NOPE. None of those from Mike. Instead he judged us. Maybe thinking we're slow or something since we simply asked for help. If I do not get a simple sorry from him, I'd be so disappointed because he really ruined my day with his appalling way of treating his customers (including my birthday boy) and all the other people here who gave their constructive criticisms.
Note: Imagine I told him that it was my boy's birthday but he didn't...
Read moreI’ve seen so many good reviews and was so excited to try out this new place yet if I could rate this place a zero I would. Me and my family went to celebrate my younger brothers birthday & an older white male had a very aggressive demeanor and an atrocious attitude dealing with us.
There was a wall with a hole that had just been plastered and was still wet but we were unaware as there was no indications and the area was not properly secured. My younger brother as he was waiting and looking at the climbing station from the area where you go to harness up accidentally lightly brushed up against the wall with the wet plaster and got it all over his hand and jacket that now needs to be dry cleaned.
My brother did not even disrupt or mess up the plaster work and even apologized, yet the man proceeded to get angry with my brother as if he did it on purpose and left to the front offices after rudely side-eyeing all of us and flicking his hand backwards and telling us to go sit down and wait to be harnessed up in an area that was already full of jackets and bags.
That is when my mother went to the friendly receptionist to go and respectfully inform that they should cover it up but the male came storming out of the back offices behind the reception desk that is located at the front and started angrily arguing with my mother about the incident once he overheard my mother informing the receptionist about what had happened.
At this point me and my brother got involved as we heard them starting to raise their voices. This mans attitude from the start was very unwelcoming and very uncomfortable, I can’t help but feel we may also have been discriminated against as we seemed to be the only indigenous people in the vicinity. From the moment he saw us he seemed annoyed and aggravated.
I strongly suggest that you re-evaluate spending your money at this place & hope that this negative interaction for Clip n climb is a learning experience for them to grow and learn how to better handle situations like this going forward. I am truly upset and disappointed as a potential customer as how this...
Read moreI brought my children to experience Clip 'n Climb for the first time and they sure loved it. The staff start the climbers off by harnessing them up and follow up with a safety orientation. There were a lot of different types of climbing walls and obstacles with many different difficulties. I did notice that my youngest struggled with clipping in and out on her own (she wasn't the only one having this issue) so I was constantly running between walls to assist them with clipping and unclipping. It would be nice if the staff noticed and helped out some of the younger kids with this task, but the 3 that were on the floor seemed too busy chatting at the slide to really be bothered (I'm pretty sure the slide only requires one staff member to run it).
I did like the fact that it was not possible to not be properly clipped into the safety line as it's essentially a double safety device (clipping the harness will release the clip that's holding the mat in a vertical position which is blocking the the first 2.5' of the wall; once property clipped in, the mat will drop to the floor and allow the climber access to climb the wall; mats on the floor also indicate that somebody is on the wall). My children also had a lot of fun on the slide, although there is an additional cost for this.
Pricewise, I feel that it's a little on the expensive side for a single hour of activity, however, my kids were quite tired after that hour. It'll be on our list of potential indoor activities, but it's not something we'd be doing...
