Read moreCame here for brunch with a group, and when I was ordering, our server didn’t know that the menu had a choice of fries or a salad with the item I ordered (they told me it only came with fries so I had to show them that there was a salad option). This was no biggie, however, our server said that the food would take 20-30 minutes but we received our food over an hour later.
For these reasons, we decided we were going to pass on the tip. When my friend paid, our server took the receipt over to another worker and after chatting, she came back over to us. She then held the receipt in front of my friend and said “there was an issue with the transaction” followed by “you skipped the tip”. She then proceeded to ask why he did not tip her. He explained that the food took over an hour and she simply said that was not her fault. This was extremely unprofessional in my opinion, and due to this questioning I felt pressured to tip since she came to me for payment right after this incident. She was super friendly toward me since I tipped but when she gave the wing cards to my friends she just chucked them on the table and left. I saw her seemingly gossiping with another server after this as well while pointing at our table.
The whole attitude and incident seemed extremely unprofessional and also uncalled for as we are mainly college students who do not have a lot of extra cash. In this economy it is not okay to be questioning customers (especially with a bad attitude/tone) on why they did not tip. It made us all very uncomfortable.
My friend also tried calling twice to discuss this with a manager with no response.
Edit:
Just to clarify, the whole reason we went was because it was free wing card day, so just because we got what we came for (free wing cards) does not mean that a negative review is not warranted. It also does not make my review...
Read moreI was invited to a friends birthday get together here, it was going well, until our waitress decided to take some time from her day to finally get around to serving us.
Immediately, she looked like it was a huge bother to bring menus, was incredibly impersonal and uncaring, and after getting our order, which was a burger and fries and a beer each, was not seen again unless retrieved by someone.
This would be understandable if it was busy, but it was our table of perhaps 12, a four person, a couple twos and none of them were ordering food at all.
I spoke to my friend, told him what happened, he said he had no plans to tip either, as he too was very disappointed with the service.
You missed out on what could have been hundreds of dollars more in tips from all of us who had planned on spending money, AND managed to be the first waiter I have refused to tip.
That $60 for a burger fries and three drinks was a bit pricey, however if you had bothered to bring, say, cutlery, or even a fork, some napkins or at least bothered to make sure a table of twelve had even one, or lastly, stuck around for 10 seconds once you rudely put my food in front of me and heard me ask for ketchup, you would have gotten the $30 I was going to tip.
You missed out on a 50% AND caused your restaurant to get a review on here.
Trust me people, there are dive bars I've been in with better service.

"Jen H a year ago- The service was really bad. We were first escourted to our table and handed menus which was good, but then we were waiting for 35 minutes to order and a waitress never once came to our table, only walked passed us. It was not very busy and many waitresses were standing around eating. So we got up and left the restaurant. (This happened a few days ago.)"
Looks like this is a...
