Milton Farmers' Market — Attraction in Milton

I like this very popular market where the town closes off a portion of Main Street to host it. And there's more than great fresh fruits and veggies. You can find stalls that sell fresh meat, homemade meat pies, sausage, cheese, cupcakes, strudel, organic gluten free donuts, jerky, soups, salad dressings, honey, maple syrup, etc. One of the local diners has an outdoor barbeque selling among other things, hot dogs, sausages, fries (and poutine.) There are a number of non-food stalls selling things such as flowers, herbal tonics, and shoes. On occasion a local author sells his books here. There are couple of things the kids might enjoy. There's a Milton Transit bus at one end of the market and a Milton Fire Department truck at the other. I was a vendor at the market over the last three weeks. I can't sing their praises enough!!! It was so well organized and all of the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. We felt very welcome and supported. I have to say also, it was a real treat to have the streets cleared so quickly when the market closed. We were kind of disappointed to find out that this market wasn't happening on this weekend only because there was a street festival happening in the same time. Wasn't impressed with the prices either... I always buy whenever I can to support Canadian farmers but in some cases, I belive prices were just high because of the item's popularity. This includes foods labeled as gluten free. I'm not sure we'll come back here, specially that Burlington farmer market is gaining traction and also Hamilton farmer's market has way better...
