The location of this marina is excellent-the centre of Kingston with shops and restaurants within an easy walking distance. The staff are friendly and helpful for the most part. My problem with this marina is a big one regarding their booking policy. One has to book 48 hours in advance or by first come first served. The marina would not book us a slip until we were in the harbor. Once we eventually were given a slip, we were told we could stay one or two nights (there was incoming weather and we weren't sure we'd be able to leave after one night). They assured us that would be no problem. When I went in to say we would be staying for 2 nights they told us not only did they give our slip to someone else but that they were full and had no room for us at all. There are 40 knot gusts and heavy rain in the forecast. Needless to say this was not at all acceptable to us. This is a flawed policy. If someone had booked our slip, they should have told us when we checked in. We would not have stayed here knowing we could only stay a night because we knew the bad weather was coming. What marina behaves this way? City owned. We have been travellint by boat through for 9 months and have nver come across this kind of policy. I will pass this info on to all of my Looper friends who will be making their way to Kingston and not staying at the city marinas. Portsmouth found us a spot thankfully in a slip too small but we took what...

I have had the privilege of sailing in and out of Confederation Basin, in Kingston, Ontario, for 40 years now. At no time, as in the past few years, have I experienced such unprofessional service from the ENTIRE marina staff. No one answers the phone, which is weird because three staff were at the client service desk just gabbing and/or eating. No one responds to VHF calls from inbound boats, which is weird because I saw a dockhand with a VHF. No one knows what slip to put you in, which is weird because I filled in the online registration days ago. No one serves you at the client service, which is weird because, again, three staff are sitting around gabbing and eating, paying attention to anything except the human being at the counter. This has been going on for too long. Time for a change in leadership for marina staff in my opinion. Love Kingston. KCVI student. Queens grad. Married here. I would not normally say anything, but Confed Basin is important to me, my family, and this community. It has been hard to watch the level of service decline so drastically over the past few years. That’s my 2 cents. Thanks for...

The customer service for this place is horrendous, I filled out the online form to reserve a slip and received an automated email that mentioned is would be contacted shortly. An entire day went by with no response, so I called and of course you can't talk to a person. So I left a message. I got a call at 8pm saying there was no room for a boat of my size (39 feet), keep in mind this is mid week in June and the call is the night before I'm supposed to arrive. This leaves me know time to find something. Any "real" marina will try and fit you in, whether it was in a bigger slip or on a wall, they just did not seem to care. We were going to stay a few days in Kingston but gave the entire place a pass because of this horrible response. Please send one of your staff to Trenton to see how a city marina should be run. The local businesses deserve better than this unless the city just doesn't care about having boaters visit. There are much beypla es to visit and spend your money, give Kingston a pass until they clean...

I recently docked at Confederation Basin Marina and had a great overall experience. The location is absolutely perfect — right in the heart of downtown Kingston, with shops, restaurants, and historic sites just steps away. It made exploring the city super easy and enjoyable. The marina itself is well-staffed; the team was friendly and helpful with docking and gave us some great local recommendations. The views of the waterfront were stunning, especially at sunset, and it was a relaxing place to unwind. The only downside was that the docks could use a bit of maintenance, and the walk to the washrooms and showers was a bit long depending on where you’re docked. But those were minor issues compared to the convenience and beauty of the location. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this marina for anyone boating through Kingston. Great vibes, great service, and a perfect starting point for discovering the city.

There must be a reason boaters from all over the Province choose Confederation Basin Marina as their marina of choice for the boating season. It’s truly second to none with its proximity to downtown and all the restaurants and shops and street vendors. There are rarely dull moments between the months of May to late October. I would recommend visiting this marina any day of the year.
