I came in last month on December 9 to buy some chocolate for the holidays. Unfortunately I was sorely disappointed by the customer service I got when I came in. The two employees in the store barely seemed to pay much attention to me and were busy chatting by the cash register. I had to try figure out their bulk chocolate sale on my own. I also never have shopped with that many different selections of chocolate before and I was at a loss to know which chocolate flavours I would have liked. It would have been nice if one of them stopped chatting for a second and had come over to help explain to me what the flavours taste like, or let me have a taste so I know for sure if I am going to enjoy what I am buying. When I took my full box of chocolate to the front counter, the two employees acted like I was interrupting a private chat and one of them scoffed as they turned around to help me. The small one with glasses who first helped me was very passive aggressive and loud, and rudely told me that I had added too much chocolate to the box and would have to go put 88 grams back. First of all, the rudeness is so uncalled for, especially when I never would have made that mistake if you had just stopped goofing off together and helped me, and secondly, if I already made a mistake correlating weight and quantity then how do you expect me to know how much 88 grams is?? I was admittedly very put off by this and was a little bit snippy back to that employee and the other employee named Brandon stepped in to take over. I did admittedly not want to deal with that other employee anymore but I did not appreciate how Brandon suddenly inserted himself into the middle of the situation and started acting very pushy and very disrespectful. He didn’t seem very apologetic or really trying to help me out but rather trying to do “damage control”, putting on a fake smile and taking over to take the heat off their coworker buddy and shove me out the door, rather than apologize and report the behaviour to the store manager. He seemed to be trying to rush me through everything, came across as very ungenuine, and was weirdly forceful with how he spoke. I didn’t really feel properly treated by either of the employees who were working, which is really unfortunate because the chocolates that I purchased were absolutely fantastic. Lindt has always been my favourite chocolate and the big purchase I made this year was no exception. The peppermint cookie ones were a family favourite; my daughter ate so many I had to come back for more before the holiday season finished. But sadly, I could not bring myself to patronize this branch of Lindt again after being treated so badly by TWO employees simultaneously. I took a quick drive to the Vancouver Exchange Tower location and it was absolutely worth the trip. Don’t come here if you have any inkling of self respect and don’t want to feel like the employees are looking down at you and just trying to corral you out the door as fast as they can with fake smiles which immediately go away as soon as...
Read moreI came here on September 25th at around 8pm. I was excited to browse the store because the previous year my friend bought me the matcha flavoured chocolates and I loved it. The male worker seemed nice and said that they didn’t have the matcha flavoured ones available but they did have them in the pre-packaged ones and that they would be willing to open them to sell us the matcha ones individually. I was hoping to buy a couple chocolates but, my friend told me that we needed to leave. When we left the store, she informed me that apparently she heard him saying “If you can even afford to buy one” behind my back to the other female staff, to which she apparently laughed at
I’m not sure if my friend is telling the truth or if I’m just in denial that it happened, because I’ve never been treated that way before in any retail store I’ve been to. Insinuating that my financial status does not meet whatever standard is needed to purchase your chocolates is discriminatory and reflects poor customer service. Are we not selling chocolates here? I saw they had the Dubai chocolate and I wanted to get that too but, I guess not because my friend was already forcing me out of the store. Also, is it really that serious? Does working at Lindt really make you that unsatisfied with your life?
To the male worker that worked that day, I suggest you gain some courage and say whatever you need to say directly to people instead of being a coward, hiding behind a facade, and talking behind peoples back. I hope you don’t get fired for this review considering how bad the job market is but, I hope this helps redirect you towards a better future for yourself as you clearly seem unhappy to be working at Lindt. I may not have heard it directly from you but, seeing how offended my friend was for me is enough for me to never want to come back again. Whatever happens, good luck, and I hope you can find some peace and kindness in your life.
(By the way, their dark chocolate is SOOOOO good! I just have to buy it at London Drugs or Walmart...
Read moreWe selected a box of Pick & Mix 150 chocolates. We picked and counted them in batches of 10 to ensure accuracy. While counting, a staff member approached us and expressed concern that we were taking too many. We assured her that we were counting accurately, but she insisted on weighing the box. After weighing it, she told us we could take an additional 18 chocolates, even though we knew we were only 15 short of our target.
We took the 18 chocolates as instructed, but then the staff member removed 4 chocolates from the box, leaving us with a total of 149. We said it’s short but she said it’s corrected. We proceeded to the checkout. However, another staff member who was so rude came over insisted on weighing the box again, even though we had already been checked three times. This time, she claimed that we were 3 chocolates over the limit.
We became frustrated because we were certain that we had gotten fewer than 150 chocolates.
Despite complying with the staff's instructions and weighing the chocolates, they persisted in coming over to weigh them and challenged us again. It was evident that they did not know what they were doing and seemed to be playing the customers. This behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable.
The manager insisted that they trusted only the scale, and that we had indeed gotten more than 150.
Upon returning home, we emptied the box and counted every single chocolate, only to find that we had gotten 146 chocolates in total.
We caution others to be careful when shopping at this store, as they do not honor the quantity. We recommend pouring out and counting all items in front of the staff to avoid being...
