This store has many great aspects to it, only I believe its not very North American Friendly. Although this store is for anyone, I find it that a lot more North Americans would like these kinds of stores better seeing as they sell products that you can't find in a lot of places (If your asian surely you've seen similar things lol). It is natural to not understand what some of the products they sell are supposed to be used for right? So you would usually talk to employees right? But even the employees don't know what it is. So what do you do then? At this point I guess you use maybe google translate and such but even so this shouldn't be necessary.
Also story time: I bought one of those craft tubes that are used to make fake dessert whipped creams. When I got home, it didn't work. It was expired I guess, cream was stuck in the tube and was hard/dried up. I go back to the store to return the faulty product but oh right, no returns. I go to the isle of the product and squished the other tubes and yup, those were hard/dried up as well. Well, I should at least let the store know that they are selling an expired product and that they should take the batch of them off the shelf. But wait no one there knows what the product is supposed to do. Instead I explain it to them but they seem like they don't understand or even care. At this point I just gave up.
Its ok (but sus) to make a no returns policy but why would you not let someone return a faulty product? I bought literal garbage disguised as a good product.
Moral of the story? Although these are all good Japanese products, be careful for the ones that you don't know what they are. And just a small theory, I think Oomomo sells some defect...
Read moreFirst of all I want to say I shop here a lot.. I like the little gadgets here and many well designed items sold here is hard to get elsewhere. The reason why I rated 2 star is because the shopping experience I had today was not very pleasant. Before you come you should know that the item sold here cannot be returned or exchanged once paid. Also all packaging for all items sold here are in Japanese.... obviously if you don't understand you can ask people who works there. I was there looking at a bento box, I wonder if inside the box is divided in grid or two levels, I decided to open the plastic wrapping to find out how it was designed, I have the right know what it looks like inside before I pay since no returns are accepted. I did then put the box back into its original packaging carefully and seal the package later, until an employee came over tell me I can't do that, because if I open product other people will then copy me open other packagings. Then she took the bento box I opened then opened the packaging then try to put it back again while telling me again 'you can't do that.' Nothing was ruined when I open the package. Honestly I have no idea how should I feel about this. I'm not angry but very annoyed indeed. Why I cannot help myself when no employee is around? I'm a customer, I have the right to see the product before I buy. Not a...
Read moreGood selection but poor customer service. Poor COVID safety measures. A ceramic container got broken by accident. I informed staffs and stayed there to make sure no customer would come close and get hurt. I didn’t mind paying for it and I did pay for it. However, the way how the staff handled the accident was disappointing. The FIRST thing the lady asked me was IF I WOULD PAY. Secondly, she asked if I could stay for her to make sure no one gets hurt. The VERY LAST thing she FINALLY remember was to ask me if I got hurt by the accident. We have been loyal customers as we are a fan for Daiso from Japan. We spent $50-200 every time we went there (for a dollar store!) That is how much we used to like this place. Customer service needs to be improved. This review is written during COVID 19 phase 1 reopen. The hand sanitizer at the entrance was empty when we got there. We hesitated for a while at the entrance but no one cared. Poor social distancing. Customers would bump right next to each other. No staff cared nor attempt to conduct...
