DO NOT waste $30 on this ferry to Toronto Island Park, unless you enjoy listening to a 20 year old talk incessantly, literally, 55 minutes of the 60 min tour. As a visitor, I'm interested in learning about notable landmarks, history and interesting facts (Funny is great, if it's appropriate!)....but not constant personal opinions and comments on EVERYTHING; inappropriate comments regarding nude beach, being mooned by island dwellers, making jokes whether we the passengers will be needing our life vests, etc. Additionally if safety is a priority which should be a resounding yes, well it's not on this boat, people were kneeling on their seats leaning over the side of the boat the entire trip and the "first mate" (narrator) could clearly see them and said nothing. In addition to the danger aspect of the kneeling passengers, they completely blocked the view of EVERYONE behind them so the people on the other side of the boat had to stand to see, and the people inbetween missed out on many photo opportunities. Guess where I sat? Yes, in the middle. Out of frustration I moved to stand near the door, the only place I could really stand without obstructing anyone's view. I thought I might be asked to sit down but nope, I was allowed to stand right next to the door which wasn't locked and with one little flip I could've opened the door, not that I would, just another example of the lackadaisical attitude towards safety. SPEND $10 AND TAKE EITHER THE HARBOR TAXI OR THE TIKI TAXI. Spend five minutes and google Toronto Harbor history and fun facts and you'll learn just as much...
Read moreWorst experience ever! I was there yesterday, took the boat with this provider, the lady informed me that there are 4 or 5 free ferrys or their service to come back, we went reassured. When we wanted to come back, there was the hugest line I have ever seen, whether for the ferry or for the taxi boat, there were wheelchairs, babies... I wanted to show my 4 years old son the view on Toronto, he was never traumatised like yesterday. It looked like the end of the world for me, I think there were around 5000 people in the island waiting for a rescue. I blame the lady who lied to us, she succeeded on charging us and putting some money for the company without caring about us how to come back. She also charged full price for my son's ticket who went seated on my legs. I have been to multiple countries in Europe and to Dubai (as for me Toronto is comparable), I have never seen a careless service as this one and even the autorities were not there to organize things or to oblige them to send more ferries. There was only one doing the trip back and forth, I was like is this Toronto???? Where the hell am I???? I started crying when people were pushing each other and were treated worse than animals ! It was my first time in Toronto, never going back there because of this bad experience. I went back to the lady to ask for a refund (knowing that it was 14 dollars by card , 13 cash!!) , they were already closed. All I have to say, if you are not human, please stay away from this kind of services, you are not dropping flock of sheeps over the island, these are human beings...
Read moreGood activity which will take you away from the hustle and bustle of Toronto streets and its main attractions. We have booked the 1-hour-long cruise on April 15th, the 1st day after the cruises were relaunched after the winter season. The smallish boat, completely covered (you can't get neither stand outside), but with an option to crank open your window, will take you for a scenic boat ride. Lots of magnificent views of the harbor and the city's skyline as well as the numerous photo-ops are offered. The boat will take you to the harbor's islands, some uninhabited, a refuge to the area's wildlife, mostly over 200 bird species, and some housing much coveted island residential community (the waiting list is over 30 years). To be honest, not much of the islands can be seen from the boat, mostly marina, moored boats and bits and pieces of some modest lodgings (the land belongs to the city and can only be leased, thus eliminating potential villas of the super rich) can be glimpsed. With that being said, our guide's lively and humorous narrative featuring curious facts and anecdotes of the city of Toronto, fantastic city views coupled with the short duration of the cruise make the tour a very good activity for both visitors and...
